At Last, Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ Is on Vinyl
Summary
- Frank Ocean has just released his 2012 debut studio album Channel Orange on vinyl for the first time
- The album cover has been changed, likely due to legal reasons
- It can be purchased now via his web store at a price of $69 USD
As a devoted fan, I can’t contain my excitement! Frank Ocean is once again capturing everyone’s attention, even without any fresh tunes. The wait for new music might continue, but a silver lining has emerged: the long-anticipated vinyl release of “Channel Orange” after nearly 13 years since its initial release! Remember when he promised it would be out “ASAP” in 2019? Well, it’s finally happening.
To top it off, his luxury jewelry brand, Homer, has made a grand return with fresh collections and flagship stores opening up in Los Angeles and London. It seems that the Ocean universe is expanding once more!
Significantly, the cover for the album titled “Channel Orange” has been updated to a fresh design. It showcases a young Ocean wearing his signature bandana, displayed in 12 images organized into four rows and three columns. This alteration might be related to the rights of the album, initially released by Def Jam Recordings in 2012, but later acquired by Ocean himself. Now, he’s independently distributing the vinyl version. The set includes two black records housed within a two-record gatefold packaging, offering more than an hour of music including popular tracks like “Thinkin Bout You,” “Lost,” and “Pyramids.
If you’re interested in purchasing a vinyl copy of “Channel Orange”, you can find it on Frank Ocean’s official website, Blonded. The price is set at $69 USD, and delivery may take between four to six weeks.
