Asuka: Wille Guide & Analysis – Should you Pull?

Overview

  • Comparable DPS to Scarlet: Black Shadow (Paired with Alice/Mana) when playing at a stable 60 fps, with Scarlet: Black Shadow having a slight lead
  • Expected to be BiS for Kraken teams (does not need to be paired with Rei)/Staple in wind weak content for a long time
  • Very high single target damage, good in campaign to single out priority targets
  • Dependent on Stable 60 FPS or noticeable DPS loss will occur
  • Potential to be a decent buffer for future Sub-DPS units like Modernia
  • Can be used as a off-burst DPS with damage slightly below Modernia’s against bosses with cores. Her damage can exceed Modernia’s against bosses without cores.
  • Hospital Bed

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Asuka Shikinami Langley: Wille is an excellent choice for wind teams, dealing damage comparable to our top wind damage dealer, Scarlet: Black Shadow. Contrary to popular opinion, she doesn’t necessarily require Rei (Tentative Name) to perform optimally in a team setup. Instead, when paired with strong sub-DPS characters like Modernia on neutral element content, Wille can deliver equal or even greater damage, depending on the level of investment.

In simpler terms, Asuka excels at dealing high damage to single enemies and has decent area-of-effect capabilities during her burst. This trait makes her particularly useful when tackling specific targets in the campaign. Furthermore, her burst reduces the damage that other characters like Modernia will take in future battles, making them more effective as sub-DPS.

As a gamer, I often find that a significant chunk of Asuka’s damage stems from her Skill 1 activation. This can pose a challenge when it comes to dismantling crucial components or QTE sequences against tough bosses because her skill procs tend to strike the main body rather than specific parts.

Normal Attack Information

Black Shadow.

For Max Guards (MG) users, achieving a consistent 60 frames per second (FPS) is crucial to unleash their full damage potential. If you’re trying to secure high scores in solo raids or pushing bosses, it’s advisable to set your game settings to low when using MG Nikkes.

40 FPS vs 60 FPS damage Number Examples

Tested on element neutral for Asuka and Rei. (Ignore Red Hood damage, she has elemental advantage)

Used FPS measuring tools to check monitor FPS. Settings changed from all high to low.

In most cases, a higher frames per second (FPS) rate correlates with increased damage overall. However, the difference becomes particularly significant when dealing with rapid-fire weapons like machine guns (MGs) and submachine guns (SMGs).

Skills

Skill 1: Anti A.T. Field

After you’ve executed 50 regular attacks, it becomes active and affects the targeted enemies. It multiplies your final attack power by 4.7186 times as extra damage. This activation only happens when you are in Annihilation State. It also affects yourself.

In the Annihilation State, an additional effect is triggered:
– It targets the two enemy units closest to the crosshair within attacking range every 10 shots.
– The damage it inflicts is 15.62% of your final attack power.
– An additional effect is also applied: Anti A.T. Field, which increases damage taken by 0.83% for 30 seconds, stacking up to 30 times for a period of 30 seconds.

The key ability that Asuka possesses, which deals the majority of her damage, is crucial and should be given priority when it comes to leveling up.

Normal ATK math vs Modernia

In simple terms, Moderna serves as our main source of MG damage dealing, while Asuka’s regular attack surpasses Moderna’s – whether with or without cores – when external buffs are disregarded.

Damage Multipliers
Core damage = 2.0x Multiplier
Full burst = 1.5x, additive to Core damage mult

Against Targets with Core (during full burst)

In Asuka’s case, the Attack power is approximately 27.82% for each bullet fired, calculated as 5.47 multiplied by 2.5, then adding (9.43 multiplied by 1.5). For Modernia, her Attack power per bullet is about 23.85%, which is found by multiplying 7.71 by 2.5 and adding (3.05 multiplied by 1.5).

Opposing Targets without a core (while firing continuously),

When attacking targets that have no core and during full auto fire, Asuka deals an additional 22.35% of her attack power per bullet. On the other hand, Modernia adds 16.14% of her attack power to each bullet fired in this situation.

In my gaming experience, I’ve noticed that Asuka’s regular attack damage outperforms Modernia’s significantly, particularly when she’s my primary Damage Per Second (DPS) character. This is largely due to the additional offensive boosts she gains in this role, even though her normal attack multiplier is slightly lower.

In contrast, the story shifts when Asuka serves as a sub-DPS. Although Asuka has higher multipliers, Modernia offers better off-burst buffs like a 30% attack boost and a 71% critical damage increase, which Asuka lacks. This makes Modernia slightly more suitable than Asuka for the sub-DPS role in neutral element content.

During Asuka’s burst, her additional 15.62% proc and damage taken debuff becomes active. However, it does not stack if there are multiple parts of Prydwen. It takes 5 seconds for her Anti A.T. Field debuff to reach maximum stack from a fully charged MG. This debuff is removed with each full burst, and it can only go up to approximately 25%, which is nearly as strong as Blanc’s burst skill.

This ability could slightly increase the damage per second for present and upcoming secondary Damage Per Second characters such as Modernia, Scarlet, and Phantom at this time.

Skill 2: Emergency Repair

Triggers during Full Burst mode. Impacts the user when in Annihilation status.

Boosts Attack Damage by 30.97% for 10 seconds.

Activates upon using Annihilation. Affects only the user.

Emergency Repair:

Function: Slows down MG overheating, clears ammo, accelerates repair speed, and restores HP progressively based on Max HP percentage.

Effect 1: Reduces MG overheating rate by 100% for 3 seconds.

Effect 2: Clears all ammo.

Effect 3: Recovers 3.77% of the user’s final Max HP every second for a duration of 3 seconds.

Effect 4: Increases recharge speed by 60% for one shot.

As a gamer, I’d put it this way: When I go all out with my ultimate move (full burst), Asuka deals extra damage to her enemies. It may seem complex, but once you get the hang of it, it’s surprisingly simple.

After her temporary power-ups end (lasting for 9 seconds), her ammo empties, and she can’t build up attack speed for the next 3 seconds. Reload speed teams don’t solve this problem because reload speed is fixed at 60% during this period (effect 4).

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share an insightful tip for those leading reload speed teams (Mast/Anchor, Crown, Privaty currently). There’s technology that can help alleviate certain challenges. Here’s the trick: When commanding your team, try to pause your shooting just as the full burst timer approaches the 1-second mark. This is because the Commander’s burst buff lasts for a solid 9 seconds. By doing this, you’re maximizing the benefits of her burst abilities, enhancing your overall performance in the game.

Rei Interaction with Effect 1

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that when Rei uses her skill 2, it temporarily cancels out an effect, giving her a tiny damage per second (DPS) increase. However, teaming up Asuka with Rei solely for this effect isn’t really worth it, in my opinion.

Burst: Annihilation State

Alters its own performance, resulting in a decrease of self-inflicted damage while enhancing attacking power.

Here’s what each effect does:
1. Reduces the normal attack damage by 40% for 9 seconds.
2. Increases magazine capacity by 21%.
3. Boosts the attack power by 46.8% of the caster’s current attack power for 9 seconds.
4. Enhances attack damage by 36% for 9 seconds.

Impact on targets currently under the influence of the Anti-AT Field:

Upon exiting the Annihilation State, unleashes potent attacks on affected targets.
Deals an additional 6.62% of the final ATK as damage.
Reflects the stack count of the Anti-AT Field for specific targets.
Removes the Anti-AT Field status once the effect is activated.

During her burst, Asuka transitions into Annihilation State. This state lowers the damage multiplier of her normal attacks, but since the majority of her damage is inflicted through the activation of her skill 1, this reduction becomes inconsequential.

Asuka requires a minimum of 2400 ammo (which is approximately 3 times the base amount plus some extra), as well as a Bastion cube, to fire two complete bursts without needing to reload, ensuring efficient DPS performance. Her Annihilation bullet has the ability to eliminate Anti-Armored Technology stacks (damage taken debuffs) and deals a total of 198.6% of her final attack damage.

Campaign

Asuka: Wille is basically an upgraded Ludmilla winter owner for Campaign.

Asuka: Wille excels at identifying crucial rapture targets, yet she tends to unintentionally overkill enemies with her skill 1, causing excessive damage. While she has some area-of-effect (AoE) abilities, they are insufficient for managing smaller groups of enemies. Her AoE skills are better utilized for inflicting damage taken debuffs on opponents instead.

In comparison to popular Campaign Nikkes that are commonly used in strategic gameplay, she has a lower percentage boost for Attack (ATK) than they do. This becomes crucial when aiming to surpass substantial negative Campaign Points (CP) differences because the CP deficit and the ATK-DEF formula significantly influence each other, causing some attacks to deal only 1 damage in high CP deficit campaign pushing.

Real Wind Duo (Wind Strong Content)

Rapi: Red Hood,Crown,Scarlet: Black Shadow,Asuka: Wille,alice

Although Rei is often thought of as Asuka: Wille’s partner, she doesn’t boost Asuka: Wille’s performance as effectively as Scarlet: Black Shadow does in terms of raw DPS. Since neither Nikkes rely on core hits to inflict damage, it might be more advantageous to use Alice instead to enhance Scarlet: Black Shadow and generate bursts, rather than choosing Naga.

Rapi: Red Hood can be replaced with any preferred CDR

Fake Wind Duo (Wind Strong Content)

Rapi: Red Hood,Crown,Asuka: Wille,Rei (Tentative Name),Helm

Regarding Asuka: Wille’s top-tier team, Scarlet: Black Shadow might hold that title, but Rei remains a formidable Campaign Nikke. This is due to her greater capacity for burst damage compared to Scarlet in campaign battles, as well as her superior auto attack damage.

Helm Treasure is important as she provides strong burst generation with strong ATK damage buffs.

General Team Support Archetypes

These support units tend to be employed when the Commander lacks the crown, which is often considered a divine blessing in the campaign.

tia,naga

Tia’s defensive maneuvers, such as her shields and taunts, significantly reduce the number of points she might lose in a game. Although her direct damage output may not be very high, these protective measures are always beneficial to include.

Spam Tia for burst gen.

blanc,noir,rouge

In the next turn, Blanc is ready to join as a supporter. The player can choose to combine Blanc with Rouge and another DPS (Modernia, Scarlet, Phantom), or they can opt for using Blanc alongside Noir. However, it’s best not to use all three in one team.

Mast: Romantic Maid,Anchor: Innocent Maid

Massive ATK buffs and 100% reload speed, enough said.

Grave

When utilizing MG Nikkes, such as Asuka, you’ll notice an enhancement in Attack damage and a significant burst output. Modernia can also serve as a secondary DPS character. However, the burst generation may become unpredictable if you employ stall tactics.

Mari,Rosanna: Chic Ocean

In simpler terms, both characters perform comparable functions, primarily boosting their offenses. However, Mari is the one we should prioritize to include in our team setup. Avoid pairing them together.

If the Commander doesn’t possess any of the mentioned Nikkes, feel free to insert a Burst-type RL like Centi or Anis if a Burst-type unit is required. However, if no Burst-type is needed, choose a Nikke with the highest Combat Power (CP) or favored buffs instead.

Arena

She is a Machine gun unit. Simply do not use MG units in PvP (Except Rosanna), gomen.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Kraken AI now has a new BiS team! (although massive investment is needed).

Kraken Current BiS Team

rapi: red hood,crown,Asuka: Wille,Scarlet: Black Shadow,helm

What’s better than one Scarlet: Black Shadow like DPS’s in a team? two. simply two.

Element Neutral Team

rapi: red hood,flex,Asuka: Wille,Helm,Modernia

Regrettably, Rei’s performance in boss fights (when the health is below 20%) isn’t spectacular in terms of inflicting damage and providing minimal damage boost for Asuka. A more potent substitute DPS character would be a better choice instead.

Given that the Solo Raid’s team strength revolves around exploiting elemental weaknesses, there’s some doubt as to whether they consistently rank among the top 5 teams when not leveraging their elemental advantage.

Strengths

  • Comparable damage against Scarlet: Black Shadow, who is the second hardest hitting single target DPS
  • Great Sub-DPS
  • Self-contained kit, she does not need other Nikkes to serve her role

Weaknesses

  • Relies on stable high FPS to deal amazing damage, otherwise DPS can drop severely (Game issue)
  • Underwhelming in PvP
  • Very strong DPS as a Collab/Limited Nikke (surely we won’t have a third EVA collab cough)

Should you pull?

Absolutely. Her main role is to be a boss killer and she does that very well.

If you’ve got extra gems lying around, consider using them on duplicates since Limited Nikke is hard to come by. Prioritize pulling both Asukas if your Commander doesn’t already have Old Asuka. While they share similarities, they each have unique roles to fill in your team.

Asuka = Fire buffer/hybrid DPS
Asuka: Wille = Wind DPS
