As a passionate gamer, I’ve just received an unexpected in-game alert about my favorite racer, Asphalt Nitro. The news isn’t what I’d call good – it seems the game is shutting down on March 3, 2025. It’s been quite a ride racing through those streets, but it looks like our time together is running out. Quite a surprise, as I was just getting my drift on!
Asphalt Nitro has been delisted from the Google Play Store
Introduced as a streamlined edition of the well-known Asphalt franchise, Asphalt Nitro was unveiled for mobile devices in May 2015. Crafted to suit gamers with restricted storage capacity, this game gained attention due to its inclusion of top-tier features in a more compact format. Boasting strong gameplay mechanics, an array of exotic vehicles, and visually stunning locations, the game soon found favor among enthusiasts of mobile racing after its debut.

It’s curious that the closure announcement for Asphalt Nitro didn’t offer any insight from Gameloft on why they chose to discontinue the game. No clues were given in the message or through their official channels about the reasons behind the closure. If you’re still playing, it’s suggested to spend all your in-game currency before the shutdown date.
As I type this, it seems that the game Asphalt Nitro has been removed from app stores. When I attempt to visit its official page via Google, a “not found” message appears, suggesting that new players won’t be able to play it unless there’s confirmation about a potential shutdown in the future.
In my opinion, the game was enjoyable, but it didn’t stand out visually, considering the progress made in mobile gaming over the past decade. The graphics were outdated and lacked a polish, and even though Gameloft has produced numerous other Asphalt games like “Legends Unite” last year, they may have decided to update this game given the series’ history.
