Ashley Tisdale’s ‘toxic mom group’ drama heats up again as she hangs out with Hilary Duff’s estranged sister Haylie

Recent drama surrounding Ashley Tisdale and a group of mothers she’s been associated with has resurfaced. This time, it involves a surprise playdate with Haylie Duff, Hilary Duff’s sister, who is reportedly not on good terms with the group.

The 40-year-old actress caused a stir earlier this month after publishing an essay in The Cut about a falling out with some of her former Hollywood mom friends.

Although Tisdale never named any specific people, many fans believed she was referencing Hilary Duff’s mother and her friends, along with other celebrities like Meghan Trainor and Mandy Moore. However, a representative for Tisdale has stated this is not true.

On Tuesday, Jennifer Tisdale sparked some conversation when she shared a picture of her four-year-old daughter, Jupiter, playing with her sister Haylie’s ten-year-old daughter, Ryan.

She reposted a photo originally shared by Haylie on Instagram, adding the caption ‘Under table shenanigans @ashleetisdalefrench’.

It’s really sad to see, but it seems like Hilary and Haylie Duff have officially confirmed they aren’t speaking anymore. For years, there have been rumors of a falling out, and it’s just been confirmed after a recent event. As a longtime fan, it’s heartbreaking to hear.

She did so during her London concerts last week as she performed her new track We Don’t Talk.

Duff hinted at their past conflict in a song, singing about being unsure of how or why it started: ‘Don’t know when it happened / Not even sure what it was about.’

She strongly hints the song is about Haylie by singing, ‘Because we share the same origins and family.’

It’s just… everyone keeps asking me how she’s doing, and honestly? I want to tell them she’s incredible, that everything’s perfect. But it’s not. The truth is, I have no idea. What always comes out is how we just… don’t talk anymore. It’s like this huge thing between us, and we just avoid it. We don’t talk about anything anymore, and it’s killing me.

She then alludes to her Napoleon Dynamite star sister possibly being ‘jealous’ of her.

She sings softly, saying that if jealousy is the reason for the conflict, she’d gladly give up everything and share the best part with the other person.

Duff then made a heartfelt plea for herself and Haylie to finally resolve their differences and make amends.

She sings about wanting to resolve their issues, hoping they can talk things through openly and honestly, like they did when they were children. She’s tired of the sadness caused by their lack of communication and his unwillingness to discuss what’s wrong.

Although Duff hasn’t said for sure that the song is about her sister, many fans online believe it is.

One fan commented that Hilary Duff’s performance of ‘We Don’t Talk’ seemed to be directed at her sister, Haylie, but in a gentle way – essentially encouraging Haylie to get in touch.

Someone else commented that they didn’t understand why the people involved couldn’t simply call each other and discuss the issue, suggesting a simple conversation could resolve things.

The Daily Mail reached out to Hilary and Haylie for comment but never heard back.

Duff is currently in the news because of her return to music, but she’s also been caught up in a public disagreement involving Ashley Tisdale and a group of mothers.

Tisdale clarified that she’s never thought of the mothers involved as malicious people, with the possible exception of one, in an essay she wrote for The Cut.

‘But I do think our group dynamic stopped being healthy and positive – for me anyway.’

People quickly pointed out that the article was published soon after she stopped following Duff and Moore on Instagram.

Things got a little strange when Haylie Duff, sister of Hilary Duff, ‘liked’ an Instagram post about a difficult group dynamic, adding more speculation about a possible rift between the sisters.

The siblings, who used to be very close, haven’t been seen together in public since 2019 and don’t seem to connect with each other online anymore.

Reports suggest a rift between the sisters began with friction between Hilary’s husband, Matthew Koma, and Haylie’s fiancé, Matthew Rosenberg.

The gossip site DeuxMoi reported that these two men reportedly have a tense relationship, which some believe has created distance between the Duff sisters. However, neither sister has ever spoken publicly about any issues between them.

Duff is currently preparing for her tour and a new performance residency in Las Vegas. This timing aligns with the release of her latest album, Luck…or Something, which will be available on February 20th.

Although Haylie didn’t achieve the same level of fame as her sister, she’s still enjoyed a successful career.

She became famous for her roles in the beloved comedy Napoleon Dynamite and the television series 7th Heaven, a show focused on family and faith.

She’s a mother of two who also found success as a food blogger. This led to her hosting cooking shows and starring in several popular TV movies over the years.

In 2004, sisters Haylie and Hilary Duff recorded a cover of The Go-Go’s song “Our Lips Are Sealed,” and it quickly became a popular hit, reaching the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The sisters later starred together in the 2006 teen comedy, Material Girls, though the movie received a mixed reaction from critics.

In 2021, Haylie moved back to Texas with her fiancé, who is an entrepreneur, to start a family.
