For the very first time, the recipients of five distinctive genre awards – Alternative/Rock Artist, Dance Artist, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Artist, Pop Artist, and R&B Artist – will be chosen solely by public voting via WhatsApp.

For the first time, Jade Thirlwall has received a nomination as a solo act, having previously garnered three awards as part of the band Little Mix.

42 years since their last BRITs recognition, The Beatles have been unexpectedly nominated once more.

Forty-five years after it was penned by the late John Lennon, they have received a nomination for Song of the Year with the track “Now and Then.
