Ashley James’ Guilt Over Solo Trip

Ashley James radiated charm in a swimsuit, posting photos from her solo journey through Mexico while expressing her feelings about being apart from her family.

37-year-old TV host left many speechless when she posted a series of pictures on Instagram, showcasing her on a beach in a vibrant hot pink bikini, on Monday.

Ashley switched it up for white swimwear as she posed alongside a stranded fishing boat on a white sandy beach.

In another snap, Ashley can seen wearing a pair of leopard-print shorts which she paired with a red bikini top.

But she switched her swimwear up for a walk through the trees as Ashley could be seen explored in a beige one-sleeved top.

Revealing her thoughts about taking the trip on her one in order to gain some ‘focus’ to work on a project, Ashley wrote a lengthy caption.

Alongside the album she penned: ‘The last week by myself in Mexico. I won’t lie, I forgot how much I absolutely love spending time by myself.

‘Before going away I felt so much guilt. Guilt about leaving Tommy on his own. Guilt about leaving the kids. I had to really talk myself out of it. Tommy goes away once a week every year for work. I used to always go away by myself – I deserve to go away by myself. They were just some of my thoughts.

‘I went away to focus on a work project that wasn’t getting my attention and focus. It’s been so busy with work and kids – and the broken sleep isn’t great for creativity.

‘I spent a lot of time in Mexico when I first started travelling by myself. Solo travel was what allowed me to stop seeing my single status as failure. It allowed me to start questioning how we view a woman’s worth. It allowed me to fall in love with life!

‘I knew I wanted to come back to this place to work on this project.

‘I savoured every moment. Being in the airport and on the plane and only having to think of myself. Getting to wake up and enjoy slow mornings before a day of work. Getting a full night sleep.

It’s been lovely looking back at how far I’ve come since my first trip to Mexico, compared to where I am now. I’ll discuss this further in a future post.

‘But for now, here’s some snaps from the week. But I can’t wait to see my babies.’

Ashley candidly discusses her past battles with her self-esteem and body image, acknowledging that it took her a considerable amount of time to learn to love and accept herself.

She’s dedicated to making sure her two-year-old daughter, Ada, won’t have to struggle with the same challenges and is resolute in escaping the societal expectations that frequently make women feel insufficient.

She’s determined to ensure her two-year-old daughter, Ada, doesn’t encounter the same struggles and is steadfast in breaking free from the societal pressures that regularly leave women feeling underconfident.

Openly discussing her path towards embracing herself, Ashley articulated the significance of shielding Ada from the harmful influence of body image fixation in society.

She exclusively told TopMob: ‘I really don’t want my daughter to ever feel like she’s not enough or to ever critique herself, especially when, you know, we can’t change our body shape.

‘Women are so much more than our bodies, and we should be learning how to respect ourselves and strength.’

Ashley emphasized that it’s not merely about withstanding societal expectations regarding female appearance, but also about establishing what beauty means to her personally.

She emotionally told how she wants her daughter to know her value is not determined by her appearance.

She expressed her hope that Ada would mature into a confident football player, free from concerns about nutrition and dieting, as she put it.

Ashley too contemplated over the time it took her to embrace her body, a process that has since ignited her drive to spread encouragement and challenge unhealthy beauty ideals.

‘I feel really passionate about it because I think it took me so long to get to a point where I respected and appreciated my body and wanted to do good for my body, especially, you know, in a society that I feel like always makes women’s bodies trends,’ she explained.

I really want to attempt to assist women in moving away from the idea that skinniness and shrinking themselves are the ultimate goals.

Beyond her daughter, Ashley finds herself fretting over another child as well – her four-year-old son, Alfie, who shares his life with her partner, Tommy Andrews.

‘I want to keep using my voice to give women and girls a voice and keep fighting for equality and, you know, keep getting involved in politics and doing what I can to make not only the world better for my daughter, but also for my son because I worry about him as well growing up in this world,’ she said.
