Ashley Eckstein gears up for her 10th Her Universe fashion show at SDCC

As a dedicated gamer and long-time Star Wars fan, I can’t help but be in awe of Ashley Eckstein‘s incredible journey in both the Star Wars universe and in real life. When I first saw her portrayal of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars back in 2008, I was blown away by her convincing performance as the young padawan. Little did I know that behind the scenes, Ashley was also making a name for herself as an entrepreneur and fashion pioneer with Her Universe.

As a dedicated gamer and Star Wars fan, I’ve been blown away by Ahsoka Tano’s incredible transformation in the Star Wars universe. From her surprise appearance as Anakin Skywalker’s unconventional apprentice in Star Wars: The Clone Wars back in 2008, to becoming the leading lady of her own captivating series, it’s been quite a ride. I was in my late twenties when I first encountered Ahsoka, but I was utterly convinced by Ashley Eckstein’s remarkable portrayal of this teenage padawan – her character took some getting used to, but she quickly grew on me.

I, as a huge fan and follower of Cinemablend’s Laura Hurley, can relate to Ashley Eckstein’s current apprehensions. Not only is she an iconic actress, but she’s also the brilliant mind behind Her Universe – the retailer for fashion-forward fangirls. This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the tenth annual Her Universe Fashion Show at Comic-Con on July 25. However, I can understand why she might be feeling uneasy. There’s more to this event than meets the eye. Behind the scenes, she’s meticulously planning and preparing for an unforgettable experience that attendees will cherish.

I tell everyone, every year, this show is the most nervous I am for anything, period, the end. I get so nervous for every show. I am backstage almost getting sick. I am just beside myself with nerves every year… But that’s also a good thing. They say if you’re not nervous, then you’re not ready. So yes! I’m in the phase, where this show not only allows the designers competing to dream, but it allows me to dream. I’m actually doing something in the show this year that I’ve been dreaming of doing since 2017 and I haven’t been able to pull it off.

At SDCC this year, you’ll get a chance to witness the ingenuity of no less than 25 designers during the runway show. These exclusive, one-of-a-kind geek couture outfits are unlike anything you’ve seen before. According to Eckstein, the tension of eager anticipation will be replaced by an experience that is unforgettable.

The second I walk out on that stage and do the opening moment, then the nerves just turn into excitement. It’s like pure excitement, pure adrenaline, and I just have so much fun… I wish we could bottle up the excitement and the passion in that ballroom and then just keep it all year long.

As a passionate gamer and fangirl, I’ve always trusted Her Universe to be my go-to destination for unique and authentic fan merchandise. For years, I’ve found an impressive collection of Star Wars clothing that perfectly expresses my inner geek. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Now, Her Universe has expanded its offerings to include a diverse range of licenses from various fandoms, such as A Christmas Story and The Legend of Zelda. You can still snag a classic Princess Leia dress or an Ahsoka hoodie, but you can also explore new realms with Penelope’s teal Bridgerton dress from Season 3. And the cherry on top? Her Universe’s Our Universe section caters to other genders and expands the fandom world even further!

At San Diego Comic-Con, attendees are in for a treat, and Ashley is certain to bring plenty of excitement as she braces herself for the pre-show nerves. We can’t wait to find out what’s coming up from the world of geek culture next.
