Ash Pollard doesn’t look like this anymore! My Kitchen Rules ‘snob’ unveils stunning transformation and reveals how she reinvented herself after being branded a reality TV villain

She was initially recognized as the ‘aristocratic antagonist’ during the 2017 season of My Kitchen Rules, and she is known for her wavy hair.

But Ash Pollard looks completely different these days after totally reinventing herself.  

At the age of 39, the ex-reality TV personality has successfully found her place on social media platforms, earning admiration from followers for her interactive and relatable posts covering a range of topics such as interior design, relationships, fashion, cosmetics, personal beauty, and the ups and downs of parenthood.

She’s had a stylish transformation too; she traded her unruly dark blonde hair for a smoother platinum-colored bob.

Recently, Ash was featured in a photo series showcasing her fashionable looks in various designer garments as she performed everyday chores around the house.

So aside from looks, what else has changed? 

‘Nothing,’ Ash tells Daily Mail Australia. ‘I’m still a snob.

I enjoy dining at upscale eateries and purchasing select clothing labels, but I can also maintain a down-to-earth, neighborly charm.

In simpler terms, she suggests that the Ash Pollard shown on her first reality TV appearance was just one aspect of her overall personality.

She clarifies, “Yes, I was portrayed as the antagonist and as a snob, but those are just aspects of my character.

While I do possess those qualities occasionally, I am not solely defined by them. I am far more complex than just the sum of those attributes… I may share similarities with a book, but I am much more than merely its contents.

Following her appearance on MasterChef, Ash continued her career by participating in numerous reality programs such as I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and Dancing with the Stars, and also had a brief radio gig on Central Coast of New South Wales.

Lately, I’ve been absolutely captivated by this Instagram sensation named Ash. Her family-oriented posts are so engaging, they’ve got me hooked!

As an authentic content creator, I firmly believe it’s my raw and unedited style that seems to strike a chord with my followers.

She didn’t intentionally aim for a career as an influencer; it was never a goal or dream of hers.

‘I just fell into that off the back of being on a number of reality television shows.

I prefer honesty over deception. I don’t want to be found out as dishonest and I strive for authenticity in my interactions with others, making them feel like they are part of the journey with me. I’m aware that it may sound like a common sentiment.

Ash openly acknowledges that transitioning into a mother of four-year-old Clementine and three-year-old Claudette has profoundly transformed her personally, prompting her to reevaluate her career path.

At that moment, I believed I was about to appear on a Metro radio program, but instead, I found myself multitasking between breastfeeding and questioning myself, “What in the world is happening?” or simply put, “I couldn’t believe what was going on!

It struck me that my life is about to head down a new path, and this path seems more promising than any I’d previously imagined.

Ash acknowledges that she had been allowing outside influences to determine the course of her life, but now she’s concentrating on establishing her own content creation brand, regaining control over her path.

‘I’ve got control of my life,’ she says. 

‘I was letting radio stations and television networks rule my life and tell me where I should be.

During my tenure at the radio station, they told me, “Definitely! You’ll be on Metro radio soon,” but I responded, “Sure, but when? I don’t want to spend the rest of my career in these rural towns. Let’s discuss a strategy for when I can move away from the Central Coast.

For quite some time, I found myself going in circles, feeling misdirected, and I’ve been striving to establish my credibility.

She says the situation also caused a fair amount of self-doubt in her mind.   

At times, I would ponder over questions like, “Am I truly gifted, or am I lacking in talent? Could it be that they are leveraging my abilities to position me within this industry and regional network, or is my talent genuine?

I’ve come to understand that I have greater command over my life’s direction, which has largely been facilitated by embracing the role as a mother.

Ash acknowledges that she doesn’t openly discuss all aspects of her personal life with her long-term partner, Pete Ferne, and their kids, but she understands that it was reality television that first brought her into the limelight.

‘You like to keep a few secrets from the masses,’ she says.

However, from a business perspective, it seems more appealing to share the authenticity of my everyday life, given my background in reality TV. After all, why not let others experience a significant part of my real life?

As a lifestyle expert, I’d say: “It’s essential to remember that authenticity is the heart of a fulfilling life. With all the perfectly curated images on Instagram today, it’s easy to feel pressured into striving for unrealistic ideals – from seeking cosmetic changes like Kris Jenner or aiming for picture-perfect homes, to buying items simply because they were endorsed by someone influential. However, it’s crucial to remember that true beauty and happiness come from embracing our unique selves and focusing on personal growth rather than chasing fleeting trends.

I’m not convinced it’s necessary. In fact, isn’t it possible for us all to coexist without being overly reliant on consumerism? Despite the fact that I also run a business selling products, I can relate because I’m a mother of two young children who often have meltdowns.

One aspect of her personal life Ash is happy to share is her long-term relationship with Pete.

It appears that strolling down the aisle wasn’t a priority for the couple, and it seems unlikely that this will change in the near future.

‘Honestly, I’m waiting for him to rock up with a diamond – just give it to me already,’ she jokes.

‘Marriage isn’t something we often talk about or consider a top priority. Instead, we prefer channeling our resources towards other pursuits rather than wedding expenses.’

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express that if the situation ever arises and Pete decides to pop the question, I wholeheartedly believe Ash would gladly accept a proposal from him.

She notes that considering investment in precious jewelry could potentially be an option for him, assuming he’s receptive to it.

To be completely honest, the whole concept of a fairytale proposal isn’t quite that for me. Don’t get me wrong, the thought of my partner presenting me with a priceless gemstone is delightful, but it’s not like, “Wow, if this doesn’t happen, I’m outta here.” It’s more about cherishing the moment and the love we share, rather than making it a make-or-break situation.

When it comes to what’s next for the effervescent reality star, Ash says the sky’s the limit.

She expresses that instead of merely being an influencer, her goal is to become the creator and influencer of her own product someday. Although she’s unsure of what that product will be, she is confident that her followers will play a significant role in its success.

‘They’ve been by my side since MKR, and most of them have stuck around. I believe they’d be eager to join in on anything new, no matter how it develops.’

And can those fans expect any additions to the Pollard-Ferne brood anytime soon?       

‘I’m chopping out, mate,’ she says matter-of-factly 

If I were as wealthy as a Kardashian, I guess I would be able to afford assistance with various tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking – things you understand I mean.

If I had the financial means for a personal chef, I might consider having another child, yet I’m not sure. When children are young, your hormones shift dramatically, and your mind becomes quite chaotic. The difficulty of it all seems almost overwhelming.

‘I still think that even any amount of cash can’t help you in that situation, right?’ 

By the close of the day, Ash remains a perpetual pragmatist, acknowledging that her grounding in reality will always be a constant.

She explains, “I’m not like Nicole Kidman, or a brain surgeon, or a scientist – I’m simply a woman who appeared on reality TV.

I appreciate the chances that have been given to me; they haven’t made me appear unintelligent. Instead, I consider myself fortunate, and I believe I’m walking the right path.
