ASÉ Wrestling launching weekly episodes beginning January 9, 2025

In December of last year, ASÉ Wrestling marked its one-year milestone with a special event. To commemorate this occasion, an eight-person competition spanning a single night was held to determine the first ever Men’s World Champion. The final match pitted Darius Lockhart, the founder of ASÉ, against his longtime rival, Mr. Darius Carter. Their rivalry traces back to the initial show where Carter pushed Lockhart’s mentor and instructor, Mr. Milligan.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as ASÉ gears up for an even more spectacular year! At our anniversary show, we were thrilled to learn that we’ll be heading to Las Vegas during “Mania Week”! For years, independent promotions have seized the opportunity to host shows around WrestleMania, with the hope of capturing the attention of wrestling enthusiasts and scouts from larger promotions. Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 17, as that’s when our show is scheduled! Tickets will be available for purchase in February – so get ready to secure your spot for this unmissable event!

ASÉ has announced they will participate in Naptown All Pro-Wrestling’s Combat Crossroads event, which is set to occur in Indianapolis, Indiana during the “Royal Rumble” weekend. Other promotions joining this event include Wrestling REVOLVER, GCW The World, Midwest Territory, and F1GHT. On February 1st, ASÉ will team up with Naptown and F1GHT for a show called “Luv: A Celebration of Black Indie Wrestling,” which is in tribute to the late Terry “Tre” Davis, Jr., founder of We Luv Wrestling.

ASÉ TV coming to YouTube

Starting from next week, ASÉ TV is making its debut on their YouTube channel. Every Thursday at 8 PM Eastern Time, you can tune in for a new episode of this weekly series. This show will highlight all the matches that ASÉ has played so far, with the first episode premiering on January 9th.

The inaugural event for ASÉ Wrestling took place at the esteemed Grady Cole Center, a location steeped in wrestling lore dating back to the 1980s. This venue witnessed the legendary bouts of figures like Dusty Rhodes and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat during their careers.

Episode one offers a return to the start of the story, where two bouts marked the opening and closing acts of ASÉ’s inaugural event. The first fight in the annals of ASÉ featured Frontman JAH-C squaring off against the ex-IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, Kevin Knight. This encounter undeniably established the tone for what was yet to unfold.

The primary match exceeded expectations, pitting Trish Adora against wrestling great Aja Kong. To put it simply, you’re not mistaken – this was the first time women headlined an event at the Grady Cole Center. In addition to these trailblazers, spectators can look forward to seeing The King Bees, Sonny Kiss, Yahya, Jonathan Gresham, and O’Shay Edwards on the card as well.

Every ASÉ performance kicks off with tunes from a musician hailing from North Carolina or the South-eastern region. The initial artist to take the stage at an ASÉ show was LUTE, who is GRAMMY-nominated and multi-platinum certified. He’s affiliated with Dreamville, a record label helmed by North Carolina’s J. Cole.

ASÉ TV episodes can last between 60 to 90 minutes. These shows are hosted by renowned sportscaster Chris Lea, also a documentary producer, and Gerard Bonner, known for his work as a pro wrestling broadcaster for All Caribbean Wrestling and SHW. Occasionally, they’re joined by special guests like Sugar Dunkerton, the Pan Afrikan World Diaspora Champion, and Faye Jackson.
