As Stranger Things ends, will industry titans stop ‘protecting David Harbour’s secrets’? In the wake of Lily Allen scandal and bullying cover-up, CHARLOTTE GRIFFITHS gives her take

Since Lily Allen released her new album, ‘West End Girl,’ which openly discusses his infidelity, David Harbour has been the focus of a lot of media attention.

The 40-year-old singer recently revealed her husband’s infidelity after publicly appearing to have a happy marriage. This news came just weeks after accusations surfaced that he had bullied his “Stranger Things” co-star, Millie Bobby Brown.

With Stranger Things nearing its finale, there’s growing speculation that David, age 50, will no longer have the support of Netflix. This could mean more information about his personal life – beyond reports of cheating and bullying – will be revealed.

On The Daily Mail’s new entertainment show, The Insiders, Charlotte Griffiths, Editor-at-Large for The Mail on Sunday and a dedicated fan of Lily Allen, shared her thoughts on what’s next for David and the lasting harm to his public image.

Charlotte observes that in the song ‘West End Girl,’ Lily hints at keeping someone’s secrets. She also suggests that the streaming service’s eagerness to finish the show’s last season smoothly might indicate they were concealing something about the star.

Charlotte pointed out on The Insiders that Lily mentioned she’s ‘been protecting a lot of [his] secrets.’ This makes Charlotte question if others who have been keeping his secrets might now stop.

Lily’s album, ‘West End Girl,’ is a personal exploration of her four-year marriage to David, whom she met on the Raya dating app. The album’s 14 songs frankly describe the difficulties and eventual failure of their open relationship.

According to reports, both Lily and people within the entertainment industry might be protecting David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper on Stranger Things. These industry insiders have a personal stake in protecting him, especially with the show’s final episodes airing in December.

She continued, explaining that Netflix was heavily invested in Stranger Things and wanted the final season to be a complete success without any problems.

They’ve clearly been working hard to shield him from scrutiny, but now that the show has ended, that need is gone. I’m curious to see if more information will surface now.

Charlotte notes that the troubling stories surfacing about the actor are especially concerning given that he stars in a children’s show. She believes these revelations have permanently damaged his reputation.

It’s easy to forget, but Stranger Things is essentially a show for kids. The main actors started as child stars and have grown up alongside the series.

Earlier this month, Charlotte shared that David was investigated internally after Millie, a British actress, reportedly complained about his conduct.

She continued, explaining that Millie Bobby Brown had a disagreement with someone on set, and he managed to keep it a secret for a year or two.

Following the controversy surrounding Lily, all eyes were on him, and it’s now been revealed that Millie Bobby Brown has accused him of bullying her.

After the album came out in October, the singer caused a stir when she publicly questioned, “Who is Madeline?” – referring to someone David had been seeing outside of their relationship.

Shortly after the story came out, Charlotte surprisingly found out who his ex-lover was. The Mail on Sunday exclusively revealed that ‘Madeline’ was actually costume designer Natalie Tippett.

She said: ‘I was very proud of myself because, I found out who Madeline was, I found Madeline!’
