Artist’s Explicit Beach Photos and Rumored Breakup: What Happened?

They were the photos that had the whole of Sydney’s eastern suburbs talking. 

In December, well-known nude artist Dina Broadhurst had a casual yet intimate get-together on the beach with her former boyfriend, Max Shepherd, who is younger than her.

In a striking display, photographs captured the moment when Dina, aged 48, removed her red swimsuit top and strolled bare-chested before Max, a visitor from Los Angeles, during their attempt to sell their apartment together.

Our initial thought was about what American actress Vail Bloom, Max’s girlfriend, might be pondering regarding their tropical reunion.

In the U.S., I reached out to her and it turned out she was quite curious, probing us about the content of the images we had sent. Later, she clarified that she and Max were still deeply involved as a couple.

Previously, that situation existed. However, as we speak, approximately two months have passed since the rumors surfaced that Max and Vail’s relationship had ended. A source has confirmed to us that they have broken up following over a year of dating.

It’s possible that their relationship is more than just speculation, as they appear to have taken a step back on social media: Max has removed all pictures of them from his Instagram account and no longer follows the other person.

Vail, a mom of two kids from an earlier relationship, keeps a cherished picture of Max on her profile, yet subtly suggested trouble on Wednesday through a mysterious post containing a quote about tension, frustration, and negative feelings.

‘Set boundaries and refuse to absorb everyone else’s problems,’ it read.

When those topless photographs were snapped, Max was in Sydney, assisting with the sale of the Darling Point apartment that he and Dina jointly owned. They had both worked on its renovation during their time together.

However, the photographer managed to snap some shots of them approximately a 30-minute drive distant, specifically at Kutti Beach, as they were momentarily relaxing from their ongoing duty.

On that scorching hot afternoon, it was understandable why Dina took off her red bikini top; she was left wearing minimal coverage with just small tie-side bottoms.

Understandably, on such a sweltering afternoon, Dina chose to remove her red bikini top, revealing little with just a pair of tiny tie-side bottoms.

Both sentences convey the original meaning in a more natural and easy-to-read manner.

Since Max was nearby and appeared unfazed, it made us think it necessary to verify with Vail that she was indeed still seeing him. And, as we inquired, she indeed confirmed that their relationship was ongoing.

Additionally, she emphasized that although she held affection for Dina, she wasn’t comfortable with Dina being topless around her boyfriend.

At that point, Dina shared with us, “We’re more than just colleagues, we’re good friends and business associates,” while Max chipped in, “For the record, we’re simply friends who happen to be jointly handling a real estate sale.

Max and Dina, who share a 15-year age gap, dated from 2018 to 2023.

Following the end of her relationship, she began a new chapter with John Winning Jr., a wealthy heir to the refrigerator business. However, their union didn’t last long and they parted ways in late November, having been together approximately eight months.

In late 2023, Max started a new chapter in his romantic life, going public with Vail on Instagram, shortly after he had parted ways with Dina.

By the following June, things appeared more significant as Vail expressed heartfelt admiration for Max in an effusive social media post celebrating his 31st birthday.

In her post, she referenced the close bond he shared with her children.

She wrote in the caption, ‘Happy Birthday to the dream man for us all! You are cherished by Charlie, Jack, and me beyond measure!’
