42-year-old professional dancer from Dancing With The Stars, who reportedly threw shoes at him according to a 911 call during an alleged incident, was arrested in Napa, California on Thursday for suspected felony domestic violence.
This week marks the second anniversary for Chigvintsev and Garcia, who got married last August. They initially met in 2017 when she appeared as a celebrity contestant on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Friends and ex-castmates of the pair, it was reported to TMZ on Friday, were not shocked by the rumored event.

On Thursday, after being arrested, the Russian dancer was freed from prison that same day when his bail amount was established at $25,000 in the afternoon.
As reported by TMZ after they obtained a radio dispatch, it appears that Artem phoned 911 on Thursday morning for emergency medical aid, and furthermore, he alleged that Nikki had thrown footwear at him during the suspected argument.
Originally, I contacted them seeking medical help, but now it appears there was a heated disagreement with my spouse; she even hurled footwear at me, as the dispatcher clarified during our conversation, according to the report.
The dispatcher added, ‘A youngster is present here. An ambulance is being sent. Meanwhile, there’s an ongoing disturbance causing trouble (415 incident) happening in the background.’
On Thursday, it was reported that Artem apparently phoned the emergency services following a suspected domestic battery incident, yet he quickly recanted his statement, as per TMZ’s report made on Friday.
Afterwards, the dispatcher also said over the radio, ‘RP is stating no medical is needed now.’
According to sources, it was Chigvintsev who made the 911 call at approximately 8:30 a.m., not the supposed victim, as there were reported injuries on the latter’s person.
Yet, as the professional dancer dialed 911 once more, police were already patrolling the area. But this time, it was merely to retract his earlier statements.
In this situation, it’s standard procedure for the police to carry on with their response. However, the fire department and ambulance crews were instructed to stand down following their dispatch.
At 9:30 a.m., approximately an hour following the initial phone call, Artem was apprehended by law enforcement officials.
On Friday, Nikki Garcia’s spokesperson shared with TMZ that this issue is personal, and they kindly request privacy for both Nikki and her family during this period.
Representatives from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office verified to DailyMail.com that an arrest was made, emphasizing that deputies observed tangible signs of a domestic violence incident.
In regards to allegations of felony domestic violence, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that their investigations are not based on rumors or hearsay. Instead, they take action only when they have personally observed evidence that supports their findings.
Wofford clarified, “In general, I don’t want you to assume this is what occurred specifically here, but occasionally, signs like blood, scratches, or bruises might be present.”
‘It’s something visible where the deputies said, “OK, we’re making this arrest.”‘
According to Wofford, deputies had a conversation with Chigvintsev and took him into custody on charges of domestic violence, which is considered a serious crime. He also mentioned that Chigvintsev was compliant during the arrest and didn’t resist or show any signs of resistance. This statement was shared with Dailymail.com on Thursday.
Wofford shared with DailyMail.com that Chigvintsev was detained at the Napa County Department of Corrections at 10:40 a.m., with his bond set at $25,000.
According to Wofford’s statement, Chigvintsev posted bail around 2:15 PM on Thursday, which means he is no longer under police custody by the end of the day.
Wofford informed Dailymail.com that aside from him, there was just another individual involved in this event. However, he chose not to disclose the identity of the affected party or any specifics, as they had requested confidentiality.
On Thursday night, as far as Wofford knew, no protective orders had been filed by the victim or by authorities on their behalf.
