Art Attack! Cineverse announces Terrifier 3 documentary releasing on Screambox

As a lifelong horror enthusiast who has braved countless sleepless nights and heart-stopping moments, I can confidently say that the news of “Art Attack! The Dissection of Terrifier 3” documentary coming our way is like Christmas came early for me. I’ve been eagerly following the Terrifier series since its inception, and the behind-the-scenes insights into the creation of some of the most viscerally bloody kills are going to be a gruesome yet exhilarating treat.

For fans of “Terrifier”, the holiday season has become even more exciting. Not only is the Christmas horror movie “Terrifier 3” now available for rental or purchase on digital platforms, but a physical release date has been set for December 17th. To top it off, fans will soon get an exclusive look behind the scenes with the upcoming in-depth documentary titled “ Art Attack! The Dissection of Terrifier 3“.

As per exclusive news from Variety, the movie titled “Art Attack!” will only be available to stream on Screambox, which is a streaming platform owned by Cineverse – the distributor of “Terrifier 3”. Although a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s expected to fall within the early part of 2025. This intriguing film is directed by both Gary Smart and John Campopiano.

If you’re intrigued by the techniques used in Terrifier 3 to create its infamous gory scenes, this documentary seems tailored for you. It offers an exclusive look at how the team breathed life into the movie’s most debated moments. Expect fresh footage from behind the scenes and insights from cast and crew members, including director Damien Leone.

Cult Screenings UK is responsible for this production, and they have previously worked on projects such as “Pennywise: The Story of It,” which delves into the enduring impact of Tim Curry’s portrayal of the title character in the 1990 miniseries adapted from Stephen King’s famous novel.

Contrary to popular belief, “Terrifier 3” premiered in October rather than during the Christmas season. Regardless of Art terrorizing Miles County while dressed as Santa Claus for most of the film, it grossed over $87 million in theaters. Given that it’s an independent and unrated horror movie, its success should not be underestimated. The movie also received positive reviews from critics.

A fourth “Terrifier” film has been officially announced, and creator Damien Leone hinted at the possibility of a fifth movie, although he believes the series may only need one or two more to wrap up the story of Art the Clown, who has now established himself as a modern horror icon, played consistently by David Howard Thornton across all three films.

If you’re fond of behind-the-scenes documentaries on films like Child’s Play, you might want to check out Shudder for an extensive, five-hour long Chucky documentary covering all the different movies and variations in the series. This includes interviews with cast members, crew, historians, and more. It’s already accessible for viewing.

Regarding “Terrifier 3”, it’s now available for digital purchase as of November 26. On December 17, you can get the movie in various physical formats including Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD.
