Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son shared insights on how his past unhealthy habits inspired him to prioritize fitness.

27-year-old Joseph Baena, who shares a connection with the legendary actor, aged 77 (they both share a connection through Mildred Baena, their former family housekeeper), recently shared his thoughts on the hurdles he overcame while transforming his physique in a fresh Instagram post.

‘People sometimes forget that I used to be chubby in high school,’ the bodybuilder wrote.

As a dedicated follower, I once created a light-hearted video where I jokingly pondered about forgoing my exercise routine. However, memories of my past physique swiftly came to mind and reaffirmed my commitment.

Baena shared that he was unfortunately not selected for his basketball and soccer teams since he found it challenging to match pace with the other players during tryouts, which resulted in a tough dismissal for him.

He was grateful that swimming didn’t require tryouts during his time at Riverside High School, which was about two hours from his father’s house in Los Angeles. He shared that this experience had a profound and lasting impact on his life.

Baena mentioned that swimming served as an initiation into fitness and training for him. Everyone begins their journey at some point, yet taking that first step is crucial.

Many of the young actor’s followers identified with his struggle. 

‘Bro that was me in childhood too!!,’ wrote one sympathizer.

A former classmate recalled, “I can still picture myself waiting at the amphitheater for my sister, when you approached me, wondering if I would be swimming that year. However, I had already taken up theater instead.

It’s fantastic news! My child is part of the swimming team at their high school, and they’ve developed quite a bit of muscle. Swimming is such an excellent sport!

Another admirer gave him the highest praise by likening him to the character that made his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, famous for action films on the silver screen.

‘Our new Conan!!! I mean that with all respect because dude you are it!!!!,’ they wrote. 

‘Happy you tapped into some of the best genetics on the (planet)’ stated another.

Baena has two jobs, working an a realtor in Southern California while also focusing on acting. 

He has been keeping busy in front of the camera. 

A rising talent is set to appear in the forthcoming festive movie, “Dog Patrol,” alongside Cuba Gooding Jr. The film is scheduled for release on September 20th.
