In a 2017 conversation with Variety, Stallone shared that he witnessed Schwarzenegger chuckling after Stallone lost the Best Actor award, but it was Stallone who ultimately had the final laughter as Rocky took home the Best Picture accolade.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger took office as Governor of California, none other than Sylvester Stallone graciously accepted the invitation to attend his inauguration ceremonies. In a gesture that truly solidified their bond as action heroes, Stallone generously contributed $15,000 to Schwarzenegger’s campaign fund!
