Armie Hammer returns to movie making three years after cannibalism scandal ended career
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that it’s truly remarkable to witness the resilience and determination displayed by individuals like Armie Hammer. Three years after a scandal that seemingly brought his career to a standstill, he has returned to the silver screen with a new project.
Actor Armie Hammer is back on the big screen, following a hiatus of three years, since allegations surrounding his cannibalism scandal significantly impacted his professional life.
38-year-old actor, once widely admired for his success, faced a dramatic fall from favor after numerous troubling accusations surfaced. These claims, made by various women, alleged that he had committed acts of physical violence and nurtured dark fantasies involving cannibalism.
Actor Timothée Chalamet recently posted images from his recent work, a Western movie titled “Frontier Crucible,” marking his first project following the fallout that affected his career.
On Wednesday, Hammer shared photos on Instagram where he was seen perched atop a rock, donning a script and a cowboy hat.
In the third and final photo of the series, he shared a shot of the script sitting on a boulder.
‘Back in the saddle,’ he captioned the post.
Deadline reports the film will begin shooting in November in Monument Valley and Prescott, Arizona.
The movie, featuring Thomas Jane alongside director Travis Mills, is based on the 1961 western novel “Desert Stake-Out” penned by Harry Whittington.
Based on the report, Producer Dallas Sonnier presented it as a blend of “Reservoir Dogs” and “Bone Tomahawk,” according to the source.
In the 1870s, I find myself in the Arizona Territory, where my story unfolds. I’m a soldier with a heavy past, marked by tragedy. I form an uneasy bond with three outlaws, a striking woman, and her wounded spouse. Our shared goal is to navigate the harsh realities of the Wild West together, striving for survival in this untamed frontier.
In a new role, Hammer is set to act alongside Thomas Jane, Myles Clohessy, Eli Brown, Eddie Spears, Zane Holtz, Jonah Kagen, and Mary Stickley as the outlaws in this production.
Hammer hasn’t appeared on screen for two years, with his most recent role found in the 2022 film “Death on the Nile,” which was filmed back in 2019.
After Hammer revealed his podcast, “The Armie HammerTime Podcast,” the latest movie is now being released.
In the initial installment, Timothée Chalamet, alongside co-star Tom Arnold, discusses a range of contentious matters in his life, including allegations about cannibalism and his struggles with finances.
In 2021, the highly-acclaimed actor faced a dramatic downfall as numerous accusations surfaced, claiming he had committed acts of violent abuse and expressed dark desires for cannibalism, allegations made by several women.
Despite continuously refuting the accusations, the controversy’s aftermath seems to have largely diminished Armie’s presence in Hollywood.
Armie, descendant of the prosperous family behind Occidental Petroleum and Arm & Hammer baking soda, has been under scrutiny since February 2021, following allegations by his former girlfriend, Effie Angelova, aged 26, that he committed violent rape and abuse in 2017.
He denied the accusations of rape through his attorney and said all of his sexual encounters were ‘completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance and mutually participatory’.
In response to Effie’s allegations, more women stepped forward, claiming that Hammer had shown an inclination towards unconventional sexual practices and cannibalistic tendencies.
Originally famous for portraying the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network, this actor subsequently lost his representative, previous agency, and several assignments due to the emergence of allegations against him.
In keeping with my commitment to transparency and maintaining a balanced life, I recently chose to step away from my involvement in Jennifer Lopez’s movie, “Shotgun Wedding.” However, let me be clear: I continue to stand by my integrity and innocence regarding any allegations that may have been made.
In a statement given to DailyMail, he explained that due to the malicious and unfounded online assaults he’s been facing, it would be morally inconsistent for him to leave his children for four months to film in the Dominican Republic, as he is not prepared to ignore these baseless allegations.
After encountering negative reactions, the actor later asserted that he had attempted suicide while employed in the Cayman Islands, where he worked as a timeshare salesman.
He acknowledged that he had been emotionally abusive towards previous relationships, yet he attributed his behavior to the trauma inflicted upon him as a teenager, specifically by a pastor who is accused of sexual abuse.
Previously, Hammer’s ex-partners, Paige Lorenze and Courtney Vucekovich, additionally claimed that he exhibited abusive behavior towards them, both physically and emotionally during their relationships.
After facing no charges from the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Armie has endeavored to rekindle his professional life.
