Armie Hammer Admits Cutting Heart Out of Living Animal, Denies Cannibalism Allegations

Armie Hammer confessed that he consumed the raw heart of a live creature, but insisted he is not a practitioner of cannibalism.

In 2021, a well-known actor, aged 38 at the time, faced severe public backlash when several women came forward with accusations of violent abuse and harboring cannibalistic tendencies against him. The Los Angeles Police Department investigated these allegations in 2023, but ultimately chose not to press charges.

On The Louis Theroux Podcast on Tuesday, Armie opened up about the accusations and how his life has been impacted since then.

During our conversation, Louis inquired if Armie was indeed a person who consumes human flesh. Armie responded with: “Here’s the condition for being truly labeled as a cannibal:…

‘You have to actually eat human flesh. So no’. 

But he did admit to having taken a bite out of the heart of an animal as part of a hunting ritual. 

Louis inquired about rumors suggesting that Armie had consumed the heart of a living creature earlier, to which he responded: ‘One doesn’t consume the entire heart, such an act is not performed.’

You sink your teeth into a piece of the meat, with your companions cheering you on, creating an atmosphere similar to a highly intense, almost exaggerated ritual associated with the first-time hunting experience among men.

‘Everyone that I know who went hunting for their first time had to do something similar.’  

Louis queried, “Did you really do it then?” Armie replied, “Yes, I did. But let me clarify, it was not related to cannibalism or any form of sexual arousal.

In another part of the conversation, Armie drew an unusual analogy by saying he felt like a comedian telling jokes, when talking about the cannibalism scandal that ultimately led to the downfall of his successful acting career in Hollywood.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to highlight a situation where only one party’s communications have been shared publicly, leaving the other parties in the dark and potentially altering the context. This is similar to a comedian testing the limits of humor; they push boundaries to make us think, laugh, or feel uncomfortable, but without understanding their intent, we may misunderstand their message entirely.

He explained: ‘Evidence manipulated digitally is automatically considered unacceptable [as proof] since there’s no context provided. It might as well be a hilarious exchange between two individuals engaged in banter, teasing one another.’

Just as some comedians tend to test the limits more and more during their discussions, I won’t be engaging in debating their underlying messages.

In my perspective as a lifestyle advisor, I’d say that after the unfortunate incident, the actor attributed his questionable behavior, particularly the inappropriate messages he sent, to his personality traits being amplified by substance abuse – namely alcohol and drugs. He also mentioned a desire to experiment or ‘test boundaries’ during intimate moments.

“Were my intentions ever to sever anything from someone or consume anything from another person? Absolutely not. In truth, I’ve never desired such things. And to clarify, did I enjoy joking about it when under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or find humor in my own words as I typed these messages? Indeed, it was amusing.

Context is crucial here. Just imagine if I were to share your private jokes with everyone and leave out the parts that your friends contributed, you’d likely find yourself in an awkward situation, right?

Last month, the actor stated that he is currently residing in a small apartment while focusing on revitalizing his acting career. He also reminisced about the storm of controversy that swept through the public during the COVID-19 lockdown and held their attention.

On the Your Mama’s House podcast, he commented: ‘The world seemed disintegrating, and individuals appeared profoundly dissatisfied with their lives,’ he remarked. ‘Suddenly, a scandalous tale emerged about an actor contemplating murder and cannibalism. And immediately, it seemed as though everyone shifted their attention to this, saying, “This is much more entertaining than the fact that I’m stuck in my living room”.’

In my expert opinion, I can’t stress enough the importance of understanding the implications when private conversations are taken out of context. For instance, imagine if someone overheard or misconstrued a casual chat between friends about their personal lives, and broadcasted it to the world as something scandalous. The reaction would likely be one of shock and disbelief, with people exclaiming, “This is just gross!” It’s essential to approach sensitive matters with empathy and discretion.

He also revealed how the scandal hit his finances and mental health. 

‘I was so broke, I had to sell my truck because I couldn’t afford gas anymore,’ he shared. 

When questioned about appearing distraught following the incident, he acknowledged that he was completely overwhelmed with fear.

He detailed how the image he had crafted crumbled, revealing him to be vulnerable and maligned: ‘I found myself labeled as a cannibal in The Punjabi Times articles…and by March 2021, I was the fifth most-searched individual on Google, yet all this attention was unfavorable.’

In a candid moment, Armie expressed how overwhelming it felt: “It’s like you’re exposed completely to everyone, with every quirk and preference scrutinized. That kind of exposure is challenging.

Additionally, Armie contemplated his historical interactions with females, acknowledging that he sometimes utilized them to boost his self-esteem.

He stated on the podcast, ‘I felt as if people were like bags of influence, with a human exterior.’ Being desired sexually made me feel powerful and validated.

As an ardent admirer, let me share the chilling confession I heard: “I’d swoop in, whisk these ladies off their feet for thrilling escapades, indulge in intense passion, and then vanish without a trace, leaving them feeling like they had been caught in a whirlwind of chaos.

The individual, who had earlier disclosed his personal experience of sexual abuse by a pastor at the age of 13, publicly stated that he has been undergoing therapy and contemplating his behavior.

Additionally, he mentioned his kids whom he just celebrated the festive season with, recognizing that their lives could potentially be impacted by his decisions in the future.

I fully understand that one day, both my daughter and son might reach a stage where they express feelings of frustration towards me, perhaps even uttering, ‘I dislike my father too.’

Together with his former spouse, Elizabeth Chambers, he has two kids – a daughter named Harper and a son named Ford. Since their separation in 2020, they have continued to jointly raise their children.

Despite the fallout, Armie recently shot a film, Frontier Crucible, with William H. Macy. 

‘I wouldn’t say I’m back,’ he said, ‘But I’m working.’
