Ariana Grande’s SHOCKING Confession Will Break Your Heart!
Ariana Grande has reached the pinnacle of her career with her inaugural Oscar nomination for her acting work in ‘Wicked’, but getting to this point wasn’t an effortless journey by any means.
31-year-old celebrity openly discussed the psychological struggles she encountered while producing her consecutive albums, Sweetener and Thank U, Next, in an honest conversation on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.
Ariana Grande started working on her Sweetener album following the 2017 Manchester bombing outside her concert that took 22 lives, and just a month after its release in August 2018, she suffered another tragedy when her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller passed away from an overdose at age 26.
She revealed on the podcast that she had been deeply involved in therapy, managing PTSD, various types of grief, depression, and anxiety. She treated these issues with utmost seriousness, but having music as a component in her recovery process was undeniably playing a crucial role in helping her through it – even potentially saving her life.
Following Mac Miller’s passing and the end of her relationship with Pete Davidson, Ariana poured her emotions into the creation of ‘Thank U, Next’. Remarkably, she finalized and made it available to the public as early as February 2019, having completed its production in a swift two-week period.
She admitted that those were tough times, but the music provided a significant amount of relief and joy, just as the overall experience did. However, the music was created and expressed with a sense of immediacy, as if it were a vital necessity for her survival.
Even though she experienced overwhelming sorrow, she found solace and a path toward healing through the release provided by music during her most difficult moments.
‘It felt really healing and freeing. It was just such a beautiful moment of connection.’
Even though she’s faced challenges, Ariana has been keeping a positive outlook recently, expressing genuine joy over her significant Oscar nomination.
She posted on social media that she was crying uncontrollably when she learned the news, but reassured her followers that it was because she was filled with happiness.
‘I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise,’ she continued.
I’m truly touched and enormously grateful to be surrounded by such remarkable individuals, and it’s a privilege to join forces with you, little one. It seems that only moments ago, you were captivated by Judy Garland’s rendition of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow,’ just as a stunning, colorful bubble appeared. I can’t help but feel a swell of pride in you, my dear little one.
Ariana shared a charming picture from her childhood, where she was dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, a character that served as inspiration for her movie “Wicked”, its stage adaptation, and the book it originates from.
Apart from that, she didn’t forget to express affectionate phrases towards her close collaborator, Cynthia, with whom she’s been almost constantly together lately while marketing their hit movie.
She couldn’t help but express her admiration: ‘Your genius knows no bounds, and you are worthy of every blooming tulip in each garden.’ ‘My affection for you is boundless, forever constant.’
After the nominations were announced, Ariana and Cynthia reunited for a lunch reception in London.
Wicked ultimately received an impressive 10 Academy Award nominations.
Ariana is excitedly counting down the days until the Oscars on March 12, hoping to hear even better news as she strives for victory and continues to celebrate the remarkable path that led her here.
