Ariana Grande was stunned and overjoyed when Barbra Streisand publicly complimented her in a recent social media post.
The 83-year-old EGOT winner shared a photo on Instagram Tuesday of herself with Ariana Grande. The picture was taken before their performance together in August 2019.
Barbra Streisand shared a heartwarming photo of herself with another talented singer, taken over six years ago during what seemed to be a practice session before a performance. She added a lovely message to accompany the picture.
She enthusiastically praised Ariana Grande’s talent and sent her well wishes after Grande hosted Saturday Night Live for the fifth time. The show highlighted Grande’s well-known ability to perfectly imitate other singers.
After Barbra Streisand posted an old photo with Ariana Grande, the singer quickly responded with a single-word comment.
She wrote a comment simply saying ‘WHAT,’ and then immediately followed it up with a message thanking Barbra Streisand for what she called ‘the kindest surprise.’
In another comment on Streisand’s post, she enthusiastically shared that she loves and misses her.

Streisand began by praising Grande’s singing, calling her voice beautiful, and fondly recalling their past collaboration.
Ariana is a remarkably talented young woman. She has a uniquely beautiful voice, and a lot of other wonderful qualities, according to one writer.
Ariana is incredibly talented – she’s a fantastic actress, dancer, and comedian! She’s also a genuinely kind and considerate person. I’m so proud of her, and I really appreciate her singing on my album.
She ended her message with a sweet ‘big hug,’ and then added a P.S. saying how much she enjoyed seeing Ariana Grande on Saturday Night Live – she really thought Ariana looked beautiful! It was so lovely to see Barbra acknowledge her, and I totally agree – Ariana was fantastic!
The former Nickelodeon star also responded with high praise for the music icon.
Grande expressed immense gratitude, writing, “Barbra, thank you so much for this incredibly kind surprise! You’ve truly made my day, my year, and my life!” She accompanied the message with teary-eyed emojis.
It means the world to me to hear that from you. I love you very much and I really miss you. I hope I can see you and give you a hug soon. Thank you for everything – I truly appreciate it.
Ariana Grande and Barbra Streisand worked together before when Grande unexpectedly appeared onstage during Streisand’s Chicago concert in August 2019.

She shared the stage with Barbra Streisand, performing a duet of Streisand and Donna Summer’s popular song, “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough).”
Earlier this year, Barbra Streisand released a song called “One Heart, One Voice” featuring collaborations with Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey.
This song was featured on Barbra Streisand’s album, The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two, which followed up her 2014 album, Partners.
Barbra Streisand’s recent album, released in June, features duets with several well-known artists, including Sting, James Taylor, Sam Smith, Josh Groban, Tim McGraw, and Seal.
Ariana Grande recently finished filming both parts of the movie Wicked and immediately joined the cast of the new Meet the Parents film, the fourth in the series, directed by John Hamburg.
Okay, so Barbra Streisand – seriously, a legend! – wasn’t in the first movie when they asked everyone to come back for more. She joined the family later, for the second one, Meet the Fockers, which was amazing, but she wasn’t part of the original crew, and it still breaks my heart a little!
Ariana Grande will appear with Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, and Owen Wilson in a new comedy film from Universal Pictures.
Barbra Streisand portrayed the quirky mother-in-law, Rozalin Focker, in the second Meet the Parents movie, but had stated she didn’t intend to reprise the role.

She told Variety in June, shortly after Ariana Grande was announced, that it would take a significant amount of money to get her involved.
‘I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid and so I’m pissed off.’
Oh my gosh, she told this amazing story! Apparently, over twenty years ago, things were so unfair for women in Hollywood – they just didn’t pay us what the guys made. But get this – Ron Meyer, who was running Universal back then, actually sent her a bonus check! She said it was such a sweet gesture, and honestly, it just proves how incredible she is and how everyone recognizes her talent! It’s a small thing, but it shows he got it, you know?
According to Page Six, Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro each earned around $20 million for their work in the 2011 film, Little Fockers.
According to reports, Wilson earned $15 million and Dustin Hoffman received $7.5 million. Barbra Streisand, however, made significantly less at $7 million.
Ariana Grande will star as the fiancée of Henry Focker in the next movie in the popular series, scheduled to be released on November 25, 2026.
