Ariana Grande’s First Post-Wicked Movie Is A Comedy Franchise’s First Movie In 16 Years, Release Date Reportedly Revealed
It’s said that Ariana Grande has landed her initial acting role post-“Wicked”. While she initially made a name for herself as an actor in shows like “Victorious”, “Sam & Kat”, and “Scream Queens”, she took a break from film and TV projects in the mid-2010s to early 2020s due to her success as a pop star, with hits such as “The Way,” “Thank U, Next,” and “Bang Bang”. But now, she’s back on the acting scene, having been nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Glinda in the 2024 Broadway adaptation of “Wicked”, which will be followed by “Wicked: For Good” on November 21.
According to Deadline, Ariana Grande is gearing up to work with Universal once more by signing on for the upcoming Meet the Parents film. She will be joining an ensemble that already includes Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo. The movie, which serves as the fourth full-length installment in the series, is being penned and directed by John Hamburg. As per The Hollywood Reporter, it is scheduled to hit theaters on November 25, 2026. Furthermore, Grande is said to be portraying the fiancée of Stiller’s character’s son, who is described as a tough-as-nails woman who doesn’t seem like a good fit for him.
