The first Wicked film introduced a young Elphaba, played by Karis Musongole, before showing Cynthia Erivo as the adult version. So, it made sense that Wicked: For Good also featured different actresses for young and adult Galinda/Glinda. Scarlett Spears played young Galinda in flashbacks, while Ariana Grande returned as the Good Witch for the main story. The two actresses recently reunited before the 2026 Golden Globes, and a sweet video of their meeting has surfaced.
Obviously the two Glindas didn’t cross paths in Wicked: For Good, but they have met in real life multiple times. Thanks to Billboard, you can see the latest instance of Grande and Spears crossing paths, which happened before one of the biggest awards ceremonies of the years kicked off:

It was a fantastic year for Scarlett Spears! In 2025, she not only charmed audiences as young Galinda, but also made her first film appearance earlier in the year as young Dora Márquez in Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado (available on Paramount+). While the movie musical received more attention, it was wonderful to see Spears recognized and invited to the Golden Globes, where she had the chance to meet Ariana Grande.
Despite receiving four Golden Globe nominations – including one for Ariana Grande as Best Supporting Actress – Wicked: For Good didn’t take home any wins. However, awards season isn’t over yet! I’m hopeful that the second part of Wicked will be recognized at the 98th Academy Awards in early March. That event will also give Ariana Grande and Scarlett Spears another chance to connect, and I’m hoping the young actress will receive an invitation as well.
The cast of Wicked: For Good included Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, and Bronwyn James, among other talented actors. Colman Domingo and Bethany Weaver joined the production as the Cowardly Lion and Dorothy Gale, respectively. While the film received a more varied response from critics than the first Wicked movie, and earned $522.5 million globally, it didn’t achieve the same box office success as its predecessor, which grossed $758.8 million worldwide.
Now that the first part of the Wicked story has finally hit the big screen, I’m already hearing talk of a third movie! It seems they’re hoping to build Wicked into something much bigger than just a film – a whole media franchise, really. I’ll definitely keep you updated if those rumors gain any traction. But for now, mark your calendars – Wicked: For Good should be streaming on Peacock later this year, and it’s something you won’t want to miss.
