Ariana Grande joins unexpected sequel to classic ’00s comedy as 2026 release date is confirmed

Ariana Grande is now part of the surprising lineup for the upcoming “Meet the Parents” sequel, a fact that was revealed back in December.

The wildly successful comedy series began in the year 2000, introducing us to Ben Stiller as Greg Focker, a kind-hearted individual encountering his girlfriend Pam’s family for the first time. He shared the screen with Robert De Niro, who portrayed Pam’s cautious father Jack, a former CIA agent.

Initially, the successful film was followed by two continuations: “Meet the Fockers” from 2004 and “Little Fockers” in 2010. Now, after a gap of 15 years, it has been officially announced that a fourth part is under development, with actress Grande from the popular series “Wicked” set to participate in the new instalment.

What to Read Next

As stated by The Hollywood Reporter, the forthcoming film focuses on Greg and Pam’s son and his engagement to a daring woman who seems to be an inappropriate fit for him.

According to reports, Grandé is set to take on the role of the fiancée, while Stiller and De Niro will reappear in their classic characters. Additionally, Blythe Danner (Dina Byrnes) and Teri Polo (Pam Byrnes-Focker) are likely to make appearances as well.

The follow-up is set to be launched on November 25, 2026, and it brings back many members of the original creative crew.

Or simply:
The sequel comes out on November 25, 2026, with a good portion of the franchise’s creative team returning.

In this new installment, John Hamburg, who was a co-writer for the initial three films, assumes the roles of both writer and director, as well as being a producer. On the other hand, Jay Roach, who previously directed the earlier versions, is now moving into a producing position.

Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro are set to return as producers, this time through their company Tribeca Productions. Additionally, Ben Stiller and John Lesher will also be involved, working under their production banner Red Hour Films.

In a current chat with Variety, Rosenthal shared insights on an upcoming venture, expressing that she has frequently mentioned the possibility of a fourth installment.

Ben Stiller is currently the same age Robert De Niro was during our initial filming, and his children have matured since then. They will need to return home to encounter their parents for the first time again, according to her statement. However, she couldn’t reveal any more details about the storyline.
