Ariana Grande Joins American Horror Story Season 13 After Scream Queens

Although there won’t be a third season of Scream Queens, fans of the show have something to look forward to. This horror-comedy series, which aired in the 2010s, offered a unique and entertaining story across its two seasons. The first season centered on a thrilling murder mystery within a sorority, while the second season shifted the action to a hospital.

Despite not having the same longevity as other series from creator Ryan Murphy, Scream Queens boasted a well-known cast, featuring stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, John Stamos, Glen Powell, and Brooke Shields. The show also gained a following for its over-the-top, fun style and its engaging, unforgettable characters.

Ariana Grande Is Joining American Horror Story After Appearing In Scream Queens

While many fans were hoping for another season of Scream Queens, there’s exciting news for American Horror Story fans! Ariana Grande will be joining the cast for season 13, and Jessica Lange is also returning. She’ll be joined by familiar faces like Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, and Evan Peters, who have all appeared in previous seasons of AHS.

It’ll be great to see everyone again, but we’re especially excited to see Ariana Grande in a horror show with Murphy! The first season of Scream Queens is often considered stronger than the second, largely because of the funny and delightfully awful sorority sisters, the Chanels.

I have to say, Ariana Grande was fantastic as Sonya Herfmann – or Chanel #2, as she’s known! Even though her character doesn’t have a ton of screen time because of something that happens early on, she was really fun to watch and blended perfectly with the rest of the ensemble. It was a great performance, even in a smaller role.

American Horror Story Season 13 Also Serves As A Scream Queens Reunion

It’s great news that casting is underway for American Horror Story season 13! Fans have been eager for updates since the last season finished in April 2024. What’s particularly exciting is the inclusion of several famous ‘Scream Queens,’ including Ariana Grande, Billie Lourd, and Emma Roberts.

Both Lourd and Roberts are recurring actors in the horror anthology series, appearing in multiple seasons. Notably, they’ve even shared screen time in the same seasons, including American Horror Story: 1984 and Apocalypse.

In the first season of Scream Queens, Roberts was fantastic as Chanel Oberlin (also known as Chanel #1), and Lourd played Sadie Swenson, or Chanel #3. Chanel Oberlin is the popular and often mean-spirited leader, while Lourd’s character delivered her humor with a dry, understated style – both were incredibly funny.

Why Scream Queens Season 3 Never Happened

The third season of Scream Queens was canceled due to poor viewership. As co-creator Brad Falchuk explained to The Hollywood Reporter, the show simply wasn’t attracting enough of an audience.

According to Deadline, Fox chairman Gary Newman said Ryan Murphy believed he had finished telling the story over the show’s two seasons. This suggests Murphy was satisfied with the decision to end the series.

Although Scream Queens could have continued as an anthology series with a new mystery each season, that probably won’t happen. Luckily, many of the original cast members are reuniting for season 13 of American Horror Story, which is exciting for fans.
