Ariana Grande has addressed the fact that her Wicked: For Good co-star, Cynthia Erivo, didn’t receive an Actor Award nomination. While Ariana is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for playing Glinda, Cynthia’s leading role as Elphaba was overlooked.

Ariana addressed the awards oversight in an interview with Variety, emphasizing that Cynthia’s performance is truly memorable and will be appreciated for a long time, regardless of whether she wins any awards.

According to one observer, Cynthia’s portrayal of Elphaba is incredibly honest, emotionally raw, and powerfully strong – a performance that will be remembered and loved for many years to come, and nothing can diminish its impact.
