Ariana Grande announces death of her grandmother Nonna Marjorie at 99 in devastating post

Ariana Grande shared the news that her beloved grandmother, Nonna Marjorie, passed away at the age of 99.

31-year-old “The Wicked” star shared on Instagram the sorrowful update, posting a message penned by his mother Joan: “With deep regret, we inform you that the cherished figurehead of our family has departed from us.

Marjorie (Grandma) Grande passed away tranquilly at home, with her family and cherished companions present throughout the final weeks of her life.

‘Appreciate your affection, backing, and understanding of our need for solace during this time as we remember and honor her remarkable, exceptional life.’

The performer had a strong connection with the family’s cherished matron, whom she acknowledged as being instrumental in launching her career in entertainment.

The grandmother of the songwriter who made “God is a Woman” was well-known for urging her to try out for the main part in a musical adaptation of Annie, which was being staged in Florida.

In the beginning, that early encouragement set me on a path where I eventually snagged the main role in Annie, which further kindled my ardor for acting.

Nonna often joined Ariana at glamourous ceremonies like the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and the American Music Awards, as well as other similar high-profile events.

Marjorie shattered the record, becoming the eldest individual ever featured on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, due to her collaboration with Ariana on the track “Ordinary Things,” which was released a year ago.
