Check if the Skate servers are down or if the issues are on your end.
EA has finally launched the highly anticipated Skate game in early access, and it’s a proper follow-up to the popular Skate 3. A significant change in this new version is that it requires a constant internet connection. You can’t play Skate unless you’re connected to a public server with other players, which some will love and others might not. No matter how you feel about that, the game always relies on EA’s servers to function.
Skate has been experiencing server issues since its launch, sometimes preventing players from joining matches for extended periods. While EA is working to improve stability, the game’s online-only nature means server problems will likely always be a concern. If you’re having trouble connecting, or just want to stay informed, the guide below shows you how to check Skate’s server status.
How to check the server status in Skate
Since Skate is a new game, there aren’t many ways to reliably check if the servers are down. If the servers *are* the problem, all you can do is wait for EA to fix it. But if the servers seem fine, you’ll need to troubleshoot your own internet connection to figure out what’s going on.
Below, you can see all the different ways to check the server status in Skate:
- Visit the official Skate social media account and check for updates on the game’s server status
- Check the official EA server status website, which allows you to check every individual game and the status of its servers. This will also let you know if EA as a whole is experiencing server problems
- Go to the Down Detector page for Skate and see if other players are experiencing issues with the servers. Down Detector compiles player reports on server problems, so this will let you know if others are having issues as well.
Okay, so right now, those three spots are the fastest ways I’ve found to see if the Skate servers are down. If I check all of them and everything *looks* good, then it’s probably something on my side causing the issue, not the servers themselves.
If you’re having trouble, first make sure your internet connection is working. Then, try checking the Skate game itself or your computer. A good way to fix most issues is to reinstall the game, restart your router, or simply reboot your computer.
Let’s hope EA quickly fixes the Skate servers so players can enjoy the game without constantly being disconnected.
