Death in Paradise star Ardal O’Hanlon’s forgotten sitcom London Irish has trended on a UK streamer.

Back in 2013, the show first aired for a single season on Channel 4, focusing on a band of individuals from Belfast who had relocated to London.

You can stream the program right here on Amazon Prime Video, and it’s been quite a hit there! In fact, it’s currently trending as one of the most-watched shows on the site.

London Irish, a series developed by Lisa McGee, is known for her creation. Later on in time, she also became the brain behind the Channel 4 sitcom, Derry Girls, which was produced several years following the end of this show.

In addition to O’Hanlon and Chris ‘Da’ Lynch, the London-based sitcom also features Peter Campion from Derry Girls as Patrick Kennedy, Sinéad Keenan from Unforgotten as Bronagh Lynch, Kerr Logan of Game of Thrones as Conor, Tracey Lynch from No Offence as Ma Lynch, and Kat Reagan as Niamh Rafferty.

A pre-fame Phoebe Waller-Bridge also pops up in one episode in the role of Steph.

Initially, London Irish aired for six episodes, but Channel 4 subsequently announced that they had no intentions of producing another season.

O’Hanlon, previously well-known for his role in Father Ted, later became DI Jack Mooney in Death in Paradise, four years following his work with London Irish.

Although he retired in 2020, he has made a brief reappearance in the role within the Australia-based sequel series titled “Return to Paradise“, contributing remotely to guide character DI Mackenzie Clarke.

Last year, actor Anna Samson shared her thoughts about the cameo with Digital Spy and other media outlets: “It’s crucial that [Return to Paradise] isn’t just a copy, but we should remember our roots and appreciate the happiness and fanbase from the original. I believe both aspects are equally significant, and he plays a big role in achieving that balance.
