As a huge sci-fi fan, I’ve been watching all the streaming services battle it out, and honestly, one of them is just dominating. It’s amazing to see how far science fiction has come! For years it was seen as just fun, disposable stuff, but over the last twenty years or so, it’s really exploded in popularity and now gets the critical acclaim – and the audience numbers – it deserves.
Because sci-fi is so popular, most major streaming services are trying to attract fans. As a sci-fi enthusiast, I’ve tried shows on all of them. Prime Video has some strong contenders, with shows like The Expanse and Upload being genuinely excellent. However, Netflix and Peacock don’t currently offer much in the way of top-tier sci-fi programming.
Even so, one streaming service clearly stands out. A particular streamer consistently delivers fun and well-made science fiction shows, proving that the genre deserves just as much recognition as any other. Because of this, I believe any sci-fi fan should consider subscribing to Apple TV, and the current top 10 shows definitely support that idea.
3 Of Apple TV’s Top 10 Shows This Week Are Sci-Fi Shows
Apple TV+ has achieved something remarkable: this week, science fiction shows make up a full third of their Top 10 list. Shows like Foundation, Invasion, and Severance have consistently ranked high for several weeks. While Foundation had a brief dip, Invasion and Severance continue to perform well.
It’s rare to see three science fiction shows in the top ten on any streaming service. While comedies, mysteries, and dramas usually dominate platforms like Netflix and Hulu, Apple TV has clearly become a haven for sci-fi fans, and this achievement proves it.
Apple TV’s Current Top Sci-Fi Shows Prove The Streamer’s Versatility

It’s interesting that three out of ten shows on Apple TV+ are science fiction. But what’s even more remarkable is how different those sci-fi shows are from each other. Instead of feeling similar or rehashed, the sci-fi content on the platform feels new and original.
Despite all being science fiction, Foundation, Invasion, and Severance are quite distinct. Foundation is a politically driven, large-scale space opera set in a bleak future, Invasion focuses on the struggle to survive an alien attack, and Severance is a mind-bending thriller with a sinister tech company at its core.
Apple TV+ has a great selection of science fiction shows, including both current series and completed ones you can watch all at once. Unlike some other streaming platforms, Apple TV+ really does have something for all tastes, and its sci-fi offerings are expanding with exciting new shows like Pluribus and an adaptation of Neuromancer.
