Apex Legends Season 22 'Shockwave' Goes Live Next Week With Akimbo Weapons, New 'E-District' Map and More

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the latest announcement from EA and Respawn about Apex Legends: Shockwave has me more than just a little excited! The promise of unlimited revivals until Round 4 is music to my ears, as it means more chances to stay in the game and outwit my enemies.

In the upcoming week, it has been disclosed by EA and Respawn that the next season of Apex Legends, titled ‘Shockwave’, is set to deliver fresh content, rewards, and weapons, packed with energy!

In Apex Legends, Shockwave introduces Unlimited Resurrections throughout Round 4, ensuring you can keep playing even when other team members are eliminated. As long as one member remains alive, you’ll stay in the fray! Additionally, expect an exciting new map, E-District, which emphasizes verticality and non-stop action, all while being bathed in vibrant neon lighting.

In the upcoming season, you’ll encounter health bars and highlights for your opponents, straight shot revival, and a fresh Bot Royale mode. This means you can play either solo against AI or in a pre-formed team. Additionally, the latest ‘Akimbo’ weapon style lets you wield two P2020s or Mozambiques simultaneously.

Apex Legends Season 22, named Shockwave, is set to debut on August 6th for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Battle Pass splitting issue has been resolved; the previous plan to divide it into two parts has been abandoned. Instead, you’ll encounter a ‘Welcome Pass’, offering exclusive challenges to complete for Legend Tokens. These tokens can be swapped for any Legend character of your preference.
