AP Bren Jamepangks shares new mindset for MPL PH Season 16: “Just do it”

AP Bren Jamespangks is heading to the MPL PH Season 16 with a fresh mindset but the same goal.

Jonathan James “Jamespangks” Mendoza from AP Bren is gearing up for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 16 with a fresh perspective. He’s made a vow to himself, his team, and their supporters that they would at the very least reach the playoffs. Unfortunately, they fell short in Season 15, ending in 7th place.

This season could potentially mark a significant change for Jamespangks, as AP Bren is currently holding the third position in the MPL PH Season 16 Week 1 standings. Although they only managed to win one out of two series, this is a substantial improvement compared to their disappointing performance last season.

In an interview with Xpsp, Jamespangks shared how his mindset has shifted in MPL PH Season 16.

A fresh mindset for Jamespangks this Season 16

As Jamespangks from AP Bren, I’ve always been known for taking a moment to gather my thoughts before diving into discussions. Reflecting on my initial week of Season 16, I found myself buzzing with enthusiasm over the progress I’ve managed to make.

This season, Jamespangks approaches with a revitalized perspective due to the changes in his team lineup. Acknowledging there’s much progress to be made, he tackles each challenge one by one.

Currently, I’m all about taking action immediately if I believe it’s the correct choice. Previously, I leaned too heavily on my teammates for guidance. Now, I’ve started to take charge myself. It feels great to finally demonstrate that, even though I’m not at my peak yet, it represents growth in my abilities.

This mental shift not only signifies a new approach in his gameplay but also marks his significant professional development as a player. With AP Bren’s updated lineup for MPL PH Season 16, he finds himself needing to adapt due to the absence of some long-time teammates. This transition brings a mix of joy and nostalgia for someone who has cultivated relationships over three years.

Initially, I felt quite disheartened as I yearned to continue our shared activities together. We had spent three memorable years together, forming a sort of safe haven for me. However, it dawned on me that embracing fresh teammates and a novel setting would also spur my development further. Change, after all, presents fresh opportunities for growth.

Originally hailing from an amateur team known as Lazy Esports, Jamespangks emerged victorious alongside his teammates during the Mobile Legends Development League Philippines (MDL PH) Season 4. Their impressive performance caught the attention of AP Bren, who subsequently recruited them to compete in the professional league during Season 15. Despite high hopes, things did not unfold as anticipated, prompting a complete overhaul of their roster for Season 16.

A promise to make the playoffs this season

For this current season, Jamespangks hasn’t yet aimed for the championship trophy. Instead, he is committed to playing each game meticulously with the goal of qualifying for the playoffs first. He made a pledge last season that went unfulfilled, and for Season 16, he aims to make amends to the fans who felt let down.

This season, my primary aim is to qualify for the playoffs. Last year, I pledged that team AP Bren would achieve this goal, but unfortunately, we fell short. This time around, I am determined to uphold that commitment and restore our pride by making good on that promise.

For me, this gaming season isn’t solely about conquering; it’s about honoring commitments and demonstrating development. I’m not just playing to win, but to show that I’ve grown from the previous challenges.
