Antoni Porowski addressed a fan’s comment that the reported conflicts between the cast members of Queer Eye are ruining the show’s enjoyable atmosphere.
As the tenth and final season of the show aired, Karamo Brown cancelled several scheduled interviews on morning television, explaining that he feared facing online harassment.
To celebrate ten years on the show, 41-year-old Antoni Porowski shared memories and reflections on Instagram.
He shared a heartfelt message saying he’ll cherish the experience of making the show, not just how it concluded. He thanked everyone who watched and connected with the stories over the past ten years, and announced that the tenth and final season of Queer Eye is now available on Netflix.
One viewer commented that the off-screen conflicts are ruining the show for them. They explained that it’s hard to enjoy watching the cast pretend to be a close-knit family when they know there’s tension behind the scenes, and questioned how the cast can offer advice to others when they can’t resolve their own issues.
The Canadian personality shared that many people have difficult family situations but still manage to have fulfilling careers and passions. They explained that being genuine means acknowledging life’s complexities and accepting that you can feel multiple, even conflicting, emotions at once. ❤️
Besides Antoni Porowski and Karamo Brown, the cast of Queer Eye also features Jonathan Van Ness, Tan France, and Jeremiah Brent, who joined the show in season nine, replacing Bobby Berk.
Brown, 45, pulled out of a planned appearance on CBS Mornings on Tuesday.
After he left, the other actors were asked by Gayle King what had gone on.
Right from the start of the interview, she mentioned what everyone calls the ‘Fab Five,’ but immediately let us know one of them wasn’t able to be there. It was a bit of a surprise, honestly, since we all expect to see the whole group!
‘We received word less than an hour ago that Karamo Brown is not going to be joining us today.’
I was really touched when she shared part of Brown’s message. He actually apologized for missing the show, and made sure to thank all of us for watching – it meant a lot!
King said he wanted to quickly address the issue so they could focus on discussing the show.
In a message read aloud, Brown explained that she couldn’t attend because she’s spent the last ten years encouraging people to prioritize and safeguard their mental well-being, and to distance themselves from anything that threatens it.
‘His assistant also says he’s worried about being bullied,’ she added.
Tan France said that the cast of Queer Eye has been working together for nearly ten years, which is amazing to think about. Like all families, they have their complexities and aren’t immune to them.
Absolutely, it’s important to acknowledge the truth of things, but I’m also thrilled to be able to highlight the amazing people around us and celebrate everything we’ve accomplished together over the last ten years. It’s about paying tribute to our journey and the incredible impact we’ve all made.
Many of the show’s actors posted on social media to celebrate the premiere of its last season on Wednesday.
France took to Instagram to express their gratitude as the latest season of Queer Eye wrapped up. They shared heartfelt thanks to their amazing co-stars, the inspiring people they featured on the show, the dedicated crew, and the wonderful audience who have supported them for the past nine years, saying it’s been a dream come true. They finished by saying they’ll cherish the experience and miss everyone involved.
Van Ness shared a heartfelt message, expressing gratitude for a recent experience and excitement about the future.
Brown has stopped following most of his former colleagues on Instagram, with the exception of Jeremiah Brent, who became part of the show in season nine.
