Anthony Mackie Took His Sons To The Captain America: Brave New World Premiere, And I’m Dying Over Their Biggest Highlight Of The Night
Currently, Anthony Mackie (and many other stars from Marvel superhero films) are preparing for filming on the highly anticipated movie, “Avengers: Doomsday”. However, he’s already had a significant moment in 2025 with his official debut as Captain America in “Captain America: Brave New World”. Now, he shares some reflections about taking his sons to that premiere. The kids’ favorite part of the night, which is quite endearing, was when they… [something enjoyable and memorable, not killing].
What Did Anthony Mackie’s Sons Think Of The Captain America: Brave New World Premiere?
In most Marvel films, Anthony Mackie may not appear throughout the entire series, but as the actor portraying Sam Wilson, he’s played a crucial role in many of them and contributed to some cherished moments by fans within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Given that when it came time for him to headline his first Marvel movie, it would only be natural for him to want his sons there, especially given the significance of Captain America being portrayed by a Black actor.
Reflecting on my sons’ response to watching the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 before us, I guess I should have anticipated they wouldn’t be overly thrilled by the grandeur typically associated with movie premieres. Mackie himself shared insights about this unique experience and his sons’ reaction to the film when interviewed by E! News.
As a cinephile, let me tell you, that film took me by storm! We made our way to catch its debut, and I went out of my way to ensure they had an uninterrupted viewing experience. The movie left them spellbound, and I was humbled by their praise. But what truly stole the show, according to them, were the scrumptious chicken fingers at the post-premiere soiree.
There’s no one on earth who can dissect major happenings as effortlessly as a child, and they certainly won’t mince words when expressing their opinions. While it’s delightful to learn that the movie star of She Hate Me appreciates his sons’ enjoyment of the film (since he’s mentioned before that his kids don’t get excited about his roles in future Marvel movies), these children were primarily focused on the free party snacks. Frankly, who could resist a tasty chicken finger? After all, everyone enjoys a good one!
As a film enthusiast, I find myself pondering if the characters from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” might score an invitation to the premiere of “Doomsday,” given their enjoyment of post-production feasts. This event would be monumental, marking the first Avengers movie following the team’s triumph over Thanos, and introducing us to a revamped Avengers lineup that could potentially collaborate with newcomers from the Marvel multiverse, such as the X-Men, who I believe our new Captain America might find intriguing partners for.
The forthcoming superhero movie aims to recreate the classic Marvel vibe, implying that Mackie’s sons could have an even more enjoyable experience when the movie premieres – assuming they can manage to secure their beloved chicken fingers at the post-screening event.
