Anthea Turner, 65, says fiancé Mark Armstrong has reinvigorated her sex life – and reveals she blamed the breakdown of her marriage to love rat Grant Bovey on the menopause

Anthea Turner has revealed how her sex life has been ‘ignited’ by her partner. 

Sixty-five-year-old ex-Blue Peter host spoke with The Sunday Times Style Magazine about how life has changed since menopause and her relationship with her partner, Mark Armstrong.

She recently shared that hormone replacement therapy has increased her libido. However, during her previous marriage to Grant Bovey – a marriage that ultimately ended – she previously took the blame for its failure, believing her hormones played a role.

People often ask if getting older means romance disappears, and honestly, for me, it absolutely doesn’t! Yes, I noticed my desire shifted a little during menopause, but it definitely didn’t stay that way… it just changed.

I’m definitely experiencing the changes of menopause, and starting a new romantic relationship has really given me a boost.

At 52, her marriage to property developer Grant was falling apart. Initially, she attributed the problems to feeling depressed and hormonal changes, but she later found out he was having an affair. The marriage had begun with an affair of its own.

She was first married to Radio 1 DJ Peter Powell, but they divorced in 1998 after she began a relationship with Grant. She and Grant then married in 2000 and remained together for fifteen years, until 2015.

The couple initially separated in 2012, attempted a brief reconciliation, but ultimately separated again in 2013. Their divorce was finalized in 2015, citing his infidelity as the reason.

Their marriage ended when she found out Grant, who was 52 at the time, was having an affair with interior designer Zoe de Mallet Morgan.

She made this discovery less than a year after she’d forgiven her husband for being unfaithful. Despite her ex-husband Grant cheating on her, she says she still doesn’t regret marrying him, reflecting on their relationship with no remorse.

The presenter had previously shared that she wrote a heartfelt letter to her husband, Grant, explaining how the changes she was experiencing during menopause affected her behavior. She didn’t realize at the time that he was already having an affair with a much younger woman, age 24.

Anthea found it difficult to talk properly with her ex because of work, so she started writing down her feelings and experiences instead.

Fast forward to present day, Anthea has found love again with millionaire businessman Mark.

She shared with HELLO! that she suspected he was going to propose, remembering the moment during their romantic getaway to Italy. ‘Things moved fast,’ she said, ‘we were engaged only a few months after we first met.’

As you get older, things often happen faster because you just know what you want, and there’s no use wasting time on things that don’t feel right.
