Oh my gosh, can you BELIEVE Ant?! Apparently, Dec – Dec! – actually called him ‘icky’ because Ant started talking about stuff with Anne-Marie that… well, it’s just private, you know? Like, details nobody needed to hear! I’m honestly shocked. Dec is usually so supportive, but this… this is a whole other level. It’s just… awkward, even for me, and I’m a HUGE fan of both of them!
While chatting about Harry Styles’ latest album, ‘Kiss All The Time Disco Occasionally,’ Ant surprised Dec by sharing something personal.
Ant mentioned on their podcast, ‘Hanging Out,’ that they enjoy kissing – a sentiment reflected in the title of their new album. They clarified that this affection is reserved for their wife, emphasizing they aren’t kissing many different people.
Dec made a face and frowned at the camera, then turned to Ant and jokingly said, ‘I thought you were going to prank us!’
Ant continued, sharing his enthusiasm for kissing and suggesting it improves with age. He then noticed his friend’s discomfort and asked why he looked upset.
‘I find this a bit icky. Just keep it for the bedroom.,’ Dec said.
Ant McPartlin married Anne-Marie Corbett, who previously worked as an assistant for his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong, in August 2021. The wedding took place at St Michael’s Church in Heckfield, Hampshire.
Oh my god, he was just talking about kissing, and it was the most amazing thing ever! He was like, ‘Kissing is just… so good! We all need to kiss more people!’ But then he quickly clarified it wasn’t us kissing, which, okay, fair enough, but still! He just kept repeating how incredible kissing is, asking if I agreed, and honestly, I was completely lost in his passion for it. ‘Isn’t it just the best?’ he kept saying, and I was just nodding, completely mesmerized. It was… a moment.
‘Think of the first kiss you ever had, and the kisses got better as you got older. It’s great.’
Dec advised keeping whatever ‘it’ is confined to the kitchen or the place where it happens, and not sharing it with everyone.
‘Kissing?!’ Ant said in shock, as Dec added: ‘It’s a bit icky.’
This follows their explanation of why they won’t host the BRIT Awards anymore, and their suggestion of a disagreement with Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
Ant and Dec have presented the awards show three times – in 2001, 2015, and 2016 – but they don’t want to host it again.
Ant explained on their podcast that they’ve decided not to host again because guests mostly just want to drink and party, making it difficult to manage events.
He explained that as a show host, you’re usually told celebrities will agree to be interviewed during the broadcast, but they often back out at the last minute, right before the show starts.
Dec specifically mentioned Coldplay as an example, joking that it sparked a long-running playful rivalry between Ant and Chris Martin.
Dec asked Ant about hosting this Saturday’s BRIT Awards. Ant responded with a laugh, saying, ‘No, I’m not – are you? Three times was enough, I’m never doing it again.’
Ant continued: ‘I should never say never, because it’s, a weird thing to host.’
Ant explained they’re hesitant to host again because while awards shows are enjoyable for nominees, hosting is less fun. He said the atmosphere tends to be more about everyone wanting to party than celebrating the achievements being recognized.
It’s tough trying to manage the entire audience and host the show at the same time, especially when artists who agreed to pre-show interviews suddenly become unavailable.
You’re told Coldplay will interview you during the show, and you’re excited about it. But then, just ten minutes before going live, you’re informed that Coldplay has actually decided against doing an interview beforehand.
Okay, so there’s a bit of a funny story going on with Chris Martin and me. My co-host, Dec, jokingly said something about a feud starting, but honestly, there’s absolutely no bad blood between us – I don’t have ‘beef’ with anyone, really! It was all just a playful moment, and Dec loves to tease.
