Ant & Dec, EastEnders, The Traitors lead NTAs 2024 shortlist
As a long-time admirer of the captivating world of television, I must say that this year’s National Television Awards lineup is nothing short of extraordinary! With a plethora of familiar faces and new talents gracing our screens, it’s a testament to the vibrant and ever-evolving landscape of British television.
2024 National Television Awards nominees include Ant & Dec, EastEnders, and The Traitors.
It’s been confirmed that Joel Dommett, known for Survivor, will be hosting the televised event for a third time on Wednesday, September 11, live from The O2 Arena in London.
The well-known team of Ant & Dec are aiming to win their impressive 23rd Television Presenter Award, but they’ll need to outshine Alison Hammond from ‘This Morning’, Bradley Walsh from ‘The Chase’, Claudia Winkleman from ‘The Traitors’, and Stacey Solomon from ‘Sort Your Life Out’.
The final season of Ant and Dec’s popular show, “Saturday Night Takeaway,” is nominated for the esteemed Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award. It’s competing against their other hit shows like “I’m a Celebrity” and “The Graham Norton Show”, as well as “The Masked Singer” and “Michael McIntyre’s Big Show”.
Beyond the categories revealed today for the shortlist, ITV also confirmed that the winners for the Impact Award and Special Recognition Award will be disclosed at a later time.
After Charlie Fairhead’s departure storyline, Casualty has made its way into the Serial Drama category, aiming to dethrone last year’s winners such as EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks. In simpler terms, it’s trying to take over the top spot in this particular TV genre from these popular shows.
Among other notable contenders are “Baby Reindeer” in the Drama Performance and New Drama categories, where Jessica Gunning is recognized for her role as Martha, and also the final season of “Ghosts” in the Comedy category.
