As a long-time fan of Ant and Dec, it’s always heartwarming to see their evolution, both personally and professionally. Having been part of our Saturday nights for over two decades, they’ve become an integral part of British television history. Their decision to step away from Saturday Night Takeaway, albeit a bittersweet one, seems to be a strategic move to take a well-deserved break.

On Thursday, Ant and Dec were seen shooting a secret television production in London, half a year following the cancellation of Saturday Takeaway after running for 22 years.

On set, the pair from Geordieland, aged 48, stayed cozy in fashionable coats, taking breaks from filming to engage with the team members in friendly conversation.

It’s not much that’s been disclosed about the program yet, but earlier reports suggested that the duo has been developing an alternative to the long-standing Saturday Night Takeaway series this year.

In the photo session, Ant donned a casual gray fitted jacket and denim pants. He seemed cheerful and playful, giving a charming, slightly mischievous smile.

At the same time, Dec wore a stylish brown leather bomber jacket, paired it with dark pants, and completed the look with comfortable sneakers.

In May, The Mirror published an article stating that the show hosts registered the name “Belta Box” for their top-secret venture, which is a tribute to their hometown Newcastle, as “Belta” signifies ‘excellent’ in the North East region.

The production company, Mitre Studios, filed a new trademark, which encompasses television, radio, internet, and podcast programs, as well as related merchandise. This move allows Ant and Dec to capitalize on the show’s widespread appeal.

According to a source, whatever Ant and Dec touch seems to turn into gold, making it highly likely that this venture will also be successful.

Mitre Studios also owns trademarks for Ant and Dec’s ITV game show Limitless Win and online show Taste Mates.

The company stated: ‘Taste Mates and Belta Box are our digital initiatives, designed to reflect the Mitre’s core principles of being enjoyable and interactive.’

After 22 years on air, Ant & Dec concluded the popular Saturday Night Takeaway show with a grand, extended finale in April. This spectacular event showcased an impressive roster of stars such as Amanda Holden, Holly Willoughby, S Club 7, and Girls Aloud.

They found it difficult to make the choice to leave the famous program, as they shared their heartfelt goodbyes during an interview on This Morning.

During their conversation with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the grand finale, they expressed that it seemed appropriate to depart from the renowned program at its peak.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my admiration for this incredible show that’s been on air for an astonishing 22 years! When the thought of taking a break crossed our minds – and trust me, it wasn’t an easy decision to make, considering it was after 20 spectacular seasons – we shared our plans with the management first.

We initially expressed that we might reconsider multiple times before making a decision, and indeed, we’ve done just that. However, I believe deep down we are certain that this is the right course of action for us.

Ant agreed echoing: ‘For the show and for us personally, it’s the right thing at the right time.’

The duo is set to carry on their unique professional collaboration with ITV, as they continue to host popular shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent, and Limitless Win. These shows are broadcasted on both ITV1 and ITVX channels.

The hosts unexpectedly decided to leave the show before its 20th season, stunning viewers nationwide.

At that point, Ant mentioned: “We truly enjoy producing Saturday Night Takeaway, yet achieving 20 seasons felt like an ideal moment to take a short break and regroup.

dec just mentioned: “There’s an exciting 20th series coming up that we’re eagerly anticipating, so for now, let’s aim to end with a big impact in 2024!

The show has produced a variety of memorable sections, such as “Win the Commercial,” “Undercover,” “Get Out of My Head,” “The Final Episode,” and “Week’s Happiest Moment.
