Ant and Dec reveal terrifying encounter they had on I’m A Celeb… set as they poke fun at GK Barry
As an ardent fan with a deep-rooted affection for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, I must say that this year’s edition has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, laughter, and occasional heart-stopping moments. The antics of the celebrities in the jungle have kept me glued to my screen, and the latest incident with GK Barry encountering a rather large arachnid friend was no exception!
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed a terrifying encounter they had on set on Monday.
The Geordie duo shared a horrifying clip to Instagram, showing off an eight-legged intruder to their 5million followers.
In the video, you’ll notice that Dec is cautiously moving while a massive spider, resembling a huntsman, scuttles over their exhibition stand.
As a diligent follower, I find myself clad in a set of black joggers and sneakers. Before Anton exclaims “Check it out!”, I swiftly move to usher a spider off stage.
He then bends down and points at the huge creepy crawly.
In spite of encountering a spider famous for its bites, the pair found humor in the predicament they were in.
In reference to an error made by contestant GK Barry during Monday’s episode, Dec exclaimed, “It’s a horseman, it’s a horseman,” prior to both of them remarking about its enormous size.
After that, Ant faced the camera and remarked, “Check this out. It feels like we’re conducting a trial each time we’re in here,” as Dec cautioned him against startling the spider.
The duo captioned their post: ‘A rare horseman spider on set’.
The joke was a reference to a mistake the podcast host made on Monday night’s episode of the reality show.
In the show, Grace caused Ant and Dec to burst into laughter when she referred to a big Huntsman spider as a “horseman spider” instead of its correct name.
The Huntsman spider is called by that name since it actively pursues its food instead of relying on a web to trap other insects.
Female spiders usually don’t pose a threat, but in certain situations, they may bite people as a means of defense, particularly when guarding their eggs.
However, many fans appeared confused by the joke, expressing their perplexity in comments such as: “Is there a spider known as horseman?” and “Isn’t it a huntsman, not horseman?!” and “I thought it was called a huntsman. I wasn’t sure if I was mistaken when they said horseman.
In this particular episode, the social media influencer participated in her inaugural Bushtucker Trial, quelling concerns she might drop out of the program.
Overwhelmed with fear, the star wept profusely as the outcome of the initial audience vote was disclosed during the final moments of the first episode on Sunday evening.
However, Grace left spectators astonished on Monday when she earned a remarkable nine out of ten stars during her debut trial – a performance that resembled the intense heat and power of a Vile Volcano.
As she strolled toward the Trial clearing, GK felt buoyant following an encouraging chat with her fellow campers. Addressing the camera, she expressed: “My companions have boosted my spirits; I’m walking in with high confidence, it seems the whole world lies open to me!
In the explanation of the Bushtucker Trial, Ant and Dec disclosed that buried within the heart of the volcano was a network of caves and passages. The contestant needed to explore these hidden areas to uncover the concealed stars.
In a span of merely 10 minutes, she sought out every single star among the dense foliage, accompanied by numerous creatures native to the jungle.
When the alarm blared, GK Barry embarked on her endeavor, with Ant and Dec ready to provide a wealth of inspiring phrases like, “Overcoming hardships only serves to make you more resilient.
Navigating through numerous creatures like snakes, spiders, rats, and assorted creepy-crawlies, GK moved along with quite a bit of shrieking and cursing. In fact, Ant and Dec exclaimed: ‘We’ll have to censor a lot of this!’
While GK was walking past the spider’s den, it seemed like the spider had brought along an unwelcome guest since a large spider suddenly emerged on GK’s helmet. This sight left Ant and Dec in utter fright as they observed from afar.
