Another major closure at Disney's BoardWalk rumored for 2025

As a long-time Disney enthusiast and frequent visitor of the BoardWalk, I must admit that the recent changes have left me feeling a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions. On one hand, I am thrilled to see new additions like the BoardWalk Deli and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, but on the other, it’s hard not to feel a pang of sadness when iconic spots like Big River Grille and Brewing Works close down.

In more recent times, Disney’s BoardWalk has experienced significant changes. They’ve revamped the BoardWalk Inn lobby, introduced the BoardWalk Deli, the Boardwalk Ice Cream stand, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Needless to say, there have been plenty of new additions.

In 2024, Big River Grille and Brewing Works ceased operations. Subsequently, The Cake Bake Shop moved into the location previously occupied by ESPN Club.

It’s just as thrilling to discover new experiences, but it’s also melancholic to witness the end of familiar places. It’s reported now that another cherished location is preparing to shut down.

According to recent reports from Walt Disney World News Today (which should be taken with some skepticism due to its source), it’s possible that the well-known piano bar, Jellyrolls, located at the BoardWalk, may close in 2025. For those who aren’t familiar, Jellyrolls is a favorite spot where you can unwind and relax after spending a day at the park, offering a lively atmosphere with live music.

In keeping with the traditional atmosphere of a piano bar, visitors will be treated to the exceptional piano performances by two gifted musicians.

For the very first time this year, I visited Jellyrolls, and let me tell you, the extraordinary musicians left me utterly astounded! They seemed capable of playing just about any piece thrown at them effortlessly. What’s more, not only can they play it, but they execute it flawlessly.

It’s puzzling why Jellyrolls might be shutting down given its reputation as a bustling hangout for grown-ups at Disney. Being accessible only to those aged 21 and above sets it apart as one of the rare adult-oriented establishments on Disney property. Despite the nightly admission fee, it continues to draw a large number of patrons.

According to WDWNT, their information about Jellyrolls closing is currently just speculation, meaning if the news proves false, they have a good phrase prepared. Disney and the company operating Jellyrolls have not confirmed that the beloved piano bar will close in 2025. Here’s hoping this talk of closure remains unfounded, and the cherished bar stays open.
