Disneyland aims to be a place of joy, and most visitors have great experiences. However, problems sometimes occur, and recently, a family’s visit turned unpleasant when a man was allegedly attacked by another guest while waiting for the Indiana Jones Adventure ride.
A Fight Broke Out In The Line For Indiana Jones Adventure
Disneyland experienced two incidents on the same day: a malfunction during the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular that injured a performer, and an assault while guests waited for the Indiana Jones Adventure ride. Reports from KTLA and online on Reddit indicate that a guest began cutting in line, allegedly to rejoin their family. When a father protested, the line-cutter reportedly struck him, according to accounts shared on Reddit.
A brief fight lasting around 30 seconds broke out. Witnesses say the man who was attacked didn’t even try to defend himself. Other patrons stepped in to end the fight, but not before the man suffered a severe injury – a lasting scar.
I heard the guy who started that fight at Disneyland left with his family right after it happened. The Anaheim Police haven’t caught him yet, but they seem pretty confident they know who he is and think he’s local to Southern California. They said they have some good leads, so hopefully he’ll be found soon.
A woman posted on Reddit claiming her husband intentionally avoided fighting at Disneyland because he didn’t want to be seen as the instigator. She explained he was worried about being banned from the park, and potentially getting his family banned as well. It makes sense he wouldn’t want to risk that, as the person who starts a fight could easily be kicked out and barred from returning.
Fights at Disney Parks Aren’t Common, But They Do Happen
Disneyland and Disney World have seen conflicts before, and arguments over line-cutting are a common cause. A few years ago, a disagreement at Magic Kingdom resulted in a physical fight between two families. More recently, a similar fight even broke out in the usually cheerful Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland – a truly bizarre sight.
Causing a disruption or injury to others at Disneyland could lead to a permanent ban. While these bans are usually for life, Disney may consider lifting them if the person banned sends a sincere letter of apology.
The victim’s wife shared on Reddit that Disney Cast Members were incredibly helpful, offering first aid and doing everything they could to make a difficult situation as positive as possible. Thankfully, the victim didn’t suffer a concussion and, aside from some scars, seems to have no long-term injuries.
