Anna Maxwell Martin’s ’70s-set drama branded “enthralling” and “gripping” – with a stellar cast

The new drama Star City, starring Anna Maxwell Martin and set in the 1970s, is getting early reviews before its release this week. It’s a spin-off of For All Mankind and takes place in a world where the Soviet Union won the Space Race and were the first to land on the moon.

This time, the story shifts to the Soviet side of the space race, revealing the experiences of the cosmonauts, the dedicated engineers who supported them, and the intelligence officers working within the program. It highlights the incredible dangers they all faced in their pursuit of space exploration and pushing the boundaries of human achievement.

Star City, created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore, will build upon the universe established in For All Mankind.

The new eight-part series will premiere worldwide on Apple TV this Friday, May 29th, with the first two episodes available immediately. After that, a new episode will be released each Friday until July 10th.

The film also stars Rhys Ifans, Agnes O’Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara, alongside Martin.
