Metro asked for updates regarding the speculations, but the actress responded evasively and enigmatically, stating that she wasn’t at liberty to disclose any details.
She quipped: “I would be killed by a sniper over there, so…”
Even though the BBC hasn’t verified a potential revival yet, actors like Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar have hinted at return speculations through their recent posts.
Lately, regarding the possibility of a seventh season, Compston (the actor portraying Steve Arnott) stated that “there’s nothing on the horizon for now.
Looking ahead to potential new episodes, Compston stated that the decision ultimately rests with the show’s creator, Jed Mercurio. He added, “I have full faith in Jed and, should he feel it unsuitable for a return, I’m completely on board with that choice.
If he chose to eliminate any of us, we’d be deeply saddened. We’d take such a step only for the good of the program, and should that be his choice, then that would be the end of it.
As a fan, I’m delighting in the fact that we aren’t currently pursuing it, but having the knowledge that it’s possible makes me feel quite content. It’s a wonderful sensation, knowing it’s out there waiting.
Previously, Adrian Dunbar, known for his role as Ted Hastings, finally addressed the speculations, presenting a more optimistic perspective.
Inquired about a potential comeback for Line of Duty, Dunbar replied: “I certainly hope so, it seems likely. However, as someone put it, nothing is certain until the script lands on the desk.
Line of Duty can be streamed in full on BBC iPlayer.
