Anna Kendrick Stuns in Black Glitzy Gown at 2025 BAFTAs Red Carpet

2025 BAFTA saw Anna Kendrick arriving at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, looking absolutely otherworldly in her shimmering black evening dress.

The American actress, 39, graced the red carpet in her glamorous shimmering dress.

She posed up a storm in the low-cut dazzling gown, adorned with a huge black bow and long train.

Anna accessorized her appearance with an eye-catching emerald green necklace, and she chose to accentuate her eyes using the latest Lancôme Lash Idôle Flutter Extension Mascara for a captivating smokey effect.

The EE BAFTA 2025 Awards will be back for a spectacular evening filled with excitement, honoring the finest movies of the year and the brilliant artists behind their creation.

Following a six-year stint at the Royal Albert Hall, the glittering event found its new abode in 2023 – shifting to the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. This is where the grand affair will return to be held.

The EE BAFTA Film Awards encompass 25 competitive categories which are decided by BAFTA members.

The upcoming show is set to unveil several thrilling improvements, among them the introduction of a fresh category for Children’s & Family Films. This category aims to honor exceptional productions that resonate with audiences spanning multiple generations.

For the first time in five years, a fresh category has been introduced at the EE British Academy Film Awards, signifying that a brand-new EE BAFTA Film Award will be given out for the first time in half a decade.

A fresh innovation has been implemented within the Outstanding British Film category, now featuring a revamped voting procedure for films.

At the Thriller Conclave, a remarkable 12 nominations were earned across all categories, making it the most nominated production. Meanwhile, Emilia Perez was close behind with an impressive 11 nominations, and The Brutalist garnered 9 nods.

After returning to its native land, the film “Conclave” has been double-nominated for awards at this year’s British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), compared to the number of nominations it received at the Golden Globes held in Los Angeles last month.

In simpler terms, the gripping mystery movie featuring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and Isabellla Rossellini revolves around a clandestine and intense election for a new Pope, in which power, aspirations, and hidden truths come into conflict among rival cardinals.

As a dedicated follower, I am thrilled to share that my work has outshone Emilia Perez, the Spanish drama that emerged victorious at the Golden Globes, receiving 11 nominations at the BAFTAs. This comes after it bagged an impressive 10 awards in the US award ceremony.

Once more, “Gladiator 2” has been overlooked by award panels, as it didn’t receive a nomination for Best Film, and the Irish actor Paul Mescal, aged 28, missed the BAFTA longlist for the category of Best Actor.

62-year-old Demi Moore, who received her inaugural acting award at the Globes for Substance, has been nominated in the Leading Actress category alongside Cynthia Erivo, aged 38, from Wicked, and Saoirse Ronan, aged 30, for the Outrun.

Movie industry experts think that being included in the BAFTA shortlist for “Ghost” actress significantly boosts her chances of winning an Oscar for the first time.

In other BAFTA nomination categories, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin are set to compete against each other for the Best Supporting Actor award. They were nominated for their roles in ‘Succession’ episodes titled ‘A Real Pain’, and another production known as ‘The Apprentice’, which is a depiction of Donald Trump’s life.

Or, more briefly:

In BAFTA nominations, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin are vying for Best Supporting Actor, nominated for their performances in the Succession episodes ‘A Real Pain’ and the Trump biopic titled ‘The Apprentice’.

Simultaneously, Adrien Brody’s movie, “The Brutalist,” earned nine BAFTA nominations. Meanwhile, “Dune 2” and “Wicked” each garnered seven nominations.

As I find myself amongst the distinguished nominees for the 2024 EE BAFTA Rising Star Award, it’s an honor to be recognized for my role as the iconic Amy Winehouse in the film “Back To Black.” It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into portraying such a beloved figure. I feel humbled and grateful for this recognition.

On Tuesday, the following five individuals were revealed as the final candidates: Marisa, Jharrel Jerome, David Jonsson (from “Alien: Romulus”), Mikey Madison (known for her role in “Anora”) and Nabhaan Rizwan (“In Camera”).

Coincidentally, David, Nabhaan and Marisa were all stars of BBC drama Industry.

Sara Putt, chairwoman of BAFTA, expressed to the Press Association news agency that this year’s BAFTA nominations showcase an exceptional diversity.

She noted: “Additionally, if you examine the top 10 films in the ‘Best Film’ category, I believe you’ll find that there are six distinct genres represented.

In various genres such as science fiction, comedy, horror, and drama – even music – are represented, and surprisingly, unsettling classics like ‘Nosferatu’, ‘The Substance’, and ‘Heretic’ have been acknowledged with nominations.

As a movie enthusiast with a passion for tunes, let me tell you, the range of flicks I’ve got here – from “Wicked” to “Kneecap” – is simply astounding! It spans such a broad spectrum and delves so deeply into various genres, making it an incredibly thrilling collection.

Winning this award is considered a stepping stone towards achieving A-list stardom, with past recipients such as Tom Holland, James McAvoy, Tom Hardy, Lashana Lynch, and Kristen Stewart on the list.

David Tennant will take to the stage to host the BAFTAs for a second year in a row.

The actor, 53, first hosted the awards show last year, taking over from Richard E Grant.

Without a doubt, he’s likely to show off his charm and wit after his highly praised first appearance, which was viewed by more than 3.8 million viewers at home.

Over 20 million times, the ceremony highlights were watched by fans on social media platforms as they caught up with them.

This year, it’s unlikely that Prince William, the head of BAFTA, will be joined by his wife Catherine on the red carpet at the ceremony, as they probably won’t be in attendance.

Last year, it was weeks beforehand when Kate couldn’t attend the awards due to her announcement via a video message on March 22 that she was battling cancer. On the other hand, Prince William graced the red carpet solo at the Baftas.

The 2025 EE Bafta Film Awards will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7pm on Sunday February 16.
