Anna Friel flashes a smile and takes a cigarette break while filming scenes for her hard-hitting new BBC drama in Liverpool
As a lifestyle expert with an eye for intricate details and a heart for inspiring stories, I must say that Anna Firel is truly a captivating figure who embodies resilience and versatility. Her journey from Brookside to Hollywood is nothing short of remarkable – from her groundbreaking performances to her illustrious romantic escapades with some of the biggest names in the industry.
Anna Firel was seen on the set of Jimmy McGovern’s new BBC drama in Liverpool on Tuesday.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I found myself taking a momentary respite between takes on the set of Pushing Daisies, where I shared a casual moment with my esteemed colleagues John May and Bobby Schofield. In this brief pause, I flashed a smile and indulged in a puff from my cigarette.
She had a casual appearance, wearing a burgundy sweater and blue denim jeans, complemented by a pair of black Ugg boots.
She gathered her brown hair into a ponytail, preferring simple elegance by wearing just a pair of silver hoop earrings.
Later on, Anna could be spotted hugging her fellow actor, David Threlfall, while shooting a scene that depicted them entering a probation office hand in hand.
The as-yet unnamed upcoming series delves into how grooming and sexual abuse affect a single family.
Colin McKeown, the executive producer at LA Productions, comments: “Jimmy McGovern handles this deeply complex and delicate topic in a thoughtful and considerate manner.
‘It’s a privilege to be working with him again following the success of our previous collaborations on single dramas: Common, Care, Reg and Anthony.’
Jimmy McGovern expresses his astonishment at the talented cast and crew brought together for this project. He acknowledges that the movie is demanding, yet he is eagerly anticipating its release.
Anna starred on Brookside for two years where she played Beth Jordache on the soap.
Although she isn’t one of the longest-running cast members, she undeniably left an impactful mark on the series by appearing in key storylines, including two of the show’s most significant plots.
Initially, the compelling narrative unfolded with Beth taking her father, Trevor’s life, followed by them secretly concealing his body beneath their backyard patio, where they kept it hidden.
The following plot that shook the nation was her character’s lesbian kiss – the first to ever be shown on British TV.
Following my memorable two-year journey on a daytime soap, I embarked upon an esteemed acting career that eventually earned me Emmy accolades for my performances in “Pushing Daisies” and “Marcella.
Her romantic life has been equally captivating, with past encounters including a short-lived romance with Robbie Williams back in 1997 and the Notting Hill actor Rhys Ifans.
In 2001, she encountered actor David Thewlis during a trip to Cannes, and from that point on, they developed a romantic relationship.
The same year, the actress underwent emergency medical care after a cyst in her ovary erupted.
Additionally, it was discovered that the actress suffers from endometriosis. Alongside a ruptured cyst, this condition made it challenging for her to conceive.
In spite of the difficulties they faced during Anna’s pregnancy, she and her partner David brought their daughter Gracie Ellen Mary Friel into the world on July 9, 2005.
The couple split in 2010 but are said to remain good friends.
