Anime streamer Crunchyroll wants to be your digital home for manga too

Crunchyroll is bringing digital manga to its anime audience.

Crunchyroll is launching a new app on October 9th that will give subscribers access to hundreds of manga titles from various publishers. This is an additional service for existing Crunchyroll users.

The new digital manga platform will launch with a wide selection of popular titles, including “One Piece,” “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Daemons of the Shadow Realm,” “My Dress-Up Darling,” “The Summer Hikaru Died,” “Lycoris Recoil,” “Delicious in Dungeon,” “Sasaki and Miyano,” “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy,” and “Maiden of the Dragon: Falling for the Demon’s Lies.” More manga will be added after the platform’s initial release.

Movies

I’m really excited about ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle’! I’ve been following the anime for a while now, and I’m eager to learn all about it and the newest movie. Here’s what I’ve found out so far – everything you need to know about this awesome series!

If you’re not familiar with it, manga is simply the Japanese word for comics and graphic novels. It’s a format, like comics, rather than a specific type of story. The people who create manga – both writing and drawing it – are called mangaka.

I’m a huge anime fan, and so many of my favorites actually started as manga! Think about series like “Demon Slayer,” “Dragon Ball,” “Sailor Moon,” “Attack on Titan,” “Inuyasha,” “Fruits Basket,” and “Haikyu!!” – they all began as manga stories. It’s kind of like American comics, where they often get turned into cartoons and even live-action shows and movies, too!

Crunchyroll is releasing a dedicated app just for reading manga, separate from its video streaming service. Subscribers to Crunchyroll’s most expensive plan (Ultimate Fan, at $15.99/month) will get access to the manga app for free. If you have the Fan or Mega Fan plans, you can add manga access for an extra $4 or $3.50 per month, respectively.

You’ll also be able to download chapters to read when you’re offline. The website version of Crunchyroll Manga will launch on October 15th.
