The makers of Angry Birds, Rovio Entertainment, have announced the game is coming back to Mainland China. They’re partnering with Kingsoft Shiyou, a gaming company owned by Kingsoft Corporation Limited, and mobile phone maker Xiaomi to bring the game to players there.
Rovio aims to reconnect with fans and reach a new generation of Angry Birds fans in China
Rovio isn’t just bringing Angry Birds back; they’re introducing it to a new audience in China while also letting longtime fans revisit the classic gameplay that made the game so popular worldwide. They emphasize that Angry Birds has always been about providing simple, enjoyable fun, and this release delivers on that promise for both new and old players.

Okay, so this is awesome news for Angry Birds fans! Xiaomi is putting Angry Birds right on their new 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max phones when you buy them. Basically, I won’t have to wait for it to download when I get my new phone – I can just turn it on and start slinging birds right away. It’s a super convenient way to get the game, especially for us in the region!
The poster suggests that Angry Birds 2 will be released first. This launch could be a turning point for Rovio, with plans to follow up by adding content specifically for Chinese players, hosting new events, and finding other ways to keep them playing.

We’re seeing a lot of new Angry Birds games released for mobile devices. Just recently, there’s been Angry Birds Rush, and other versions like Angry Birds Bounce on Apple Arcade. Beyond those, there are also games in different styles, such as Angry Birds Block Quest and Angry Birds Kingdom.
