Mobile gaming fans are in for a treat! SYBO and Rovio, the creators of Subway Surfers and Angry Birds 2, have announced a special crossover event. Players can look forward to themed challenges and new characters appearing in both games.
Both Angry Birds 2 and Subway Surfers will kick off collab events with different event styles
Okay, so Subway Surfers is celebrating its 14th birthday, and the theme is ‘Super Runners’! They’ve totally revamped the game, and now we’re running through a super cool, futuristic version of Copenhagen – that’s where the game developers, SYBO, are based. Plus, all the usual characters are dressed up as superheroes, and the whole city is covered in neon lights. It looks amazing!
During the event, players can unlock and play as Red and Chuck from Angry Birds. The update includes new costumes, hoverboards, collectible items, and special gameplay related to the collaboration. The fun goes both ways – Angry Birds 2 will also get Subway Surfers content through two different in-game events.
One new feature is the Subway Surfers Spell. Once players reach level 13, they can unlock this spell while playing Saga levels. It allows birds to smash directly through pig fortresses, similar to how characters run through obstacles in the game Subway Surfers.
The second event, Swag Adventure, centers around the Tower of Fortune. During this event, you can gather special Subway Surfers hats that boost your Flock Power, making it easier to break through obstacles and pig defenses.
Angry Birds 2 is getting a complete makeover to celebrate the crossover, with new backgrounds, artwork, and special in-game currency all inspired by the other franchise.
The first parts of the Subway Surfers and Angry Birds 2 collaboration will be available starting May 11, 2026, with more Angry Birds 2 content coming soon after.
