Anger over the ‘wasteful, entitled’ Hollywood stars including Kim Kardashian who broke water-saving rules that could have been used to save homes
Anger toward ‘extravagant, self-indulgent’ celebrities escalated last night, as figures like Kim Kardashian faced accusations of carelessly using valuable water resources that could have helped save homes instead.
Since the year 2022, stringent water-saving regulations have been enforced, limiting ‘typical’ residents to watering their gardens only twice a week, for no more than eight minutes each session.
Last year, resident Kim Kardashian, who dwells in a luxurious $60 million abode within The Oaks, an elite gated community close to the current week’s fire origin, was penalized by city officials due to her usage of over 232,000 gallons of water beyond her allotted amount.
Other celebrities including Sylvester Stallone and comedian Kevin Hart were also fined.
The Mail on Sunday understands that Ms Kardashian has since installed water-saving measures.
Last night, a neighbor of Ms. Kardashian shared with the Mail on Sunday: “Celebrities often feel they’re above the ordinary rules.
In this scenario, everyone had been advised to conserve water specifically due to the current circumstances, with the intention of saving it for firefighting purposes. However, despite the advice, some people chose to continue watering their gardens as they could handle the penalties or fines associated with such actions.
Frustration was escalating as wealthy individuals began to employ private firefighters, charging $2,000 per hour, to safeguard their estates during fires.
Or:
The growing resentment was evident as the rich were seen paying $2,000 an hour for private firefighters to shield their properties amidst fires.
Chris Dunn, proprietor of Covered 6, shared with the Mail on Sunday that his phone has been consistently busy with calls. He stated that the demand for their services, which cater to Hollywood’s high-profile individuals, has never been greater.
A well-off individual commented: ‘The recent occurrences underscore that the city cannot be relied upon for safeguarding one’s possessions. Given my financial status, it seems reasonable to assume…’
As residents from Mandeville Canyon and Brentwood attempt to evacuate in a hurry due to the Palisades Fire spreading towards numerous high-value properties owned by celebrities, they are on the move.
Today’s video recordings capture a house on fire within the canyon, and thick plumes of smoke rising close to the Sepulveda Pass, near Highway 405.
In the City of Angels, numerous inhabitants are still leaving their homes, and drivers on Sunset Boulevard, just south of Mandeville Canyon, have expressed that they’re caught in a traffic jam.
A woman found herself stranded in standstill traffic for a span of two hours on her way to a fire station where she planned to deliver donations for the firefighters, as reported by ABC.
She shared with the publication that when she arrived, there was a certain clarity, hints of blue sky visible, but it’s since deteriorated into an unpleasant scene.
Overhead, both firefighters and helicopters are spotted in the vicinity, dropping large amounts of water, as a persistent 22,660-acre blaze expands further.
A fierce fire has taken the lives of approximately 11 individuals, spread across more than 37,000 acres of land, and demolished around 12,000 buildings as it moved forward.
At least 13 people remain missing, according to officials.
Approximately 153,000 people have been instructed to leave their homes due to evacuation orders, while around 57,000 buildings still face potential danger.
Or:
Over 153,000 residents have been told to evacuate, and roughly 57,000 structures are at risk of being affected.
In simpler terms, the kind Samaritan mentioned that when she was on the road, she provided a shelter to a lady whose vehicle was displaced from her home due to an evacuation.
She expressed regret that such an event was needed to unite everyone. Here’s hoping this unity persists long after this incident. [She shared this sentiment with the media outlet.]
Multiple exits from the 405 Freeway such as Getty Center Drive, Skirball Center Drive, Sunset Boulevard, Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard have been temporarily shut down to minimize traffic in the West Los Angeles region.
As per the report from state agency Cal Fire, at present, we have at least six active wildfires, with the Palisades fire being the most substantial among them.
Due to the rapid spreading fire, over thousands of residents have been asked to leave their homes in the affluent neighborhoods of Brentwood and Encino, which are home to several celebrities like LeBron James, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Vice President Kamala Harris.
James expressed a hope that this ordeal comes to an end swiftly. He has been sending numerous prayers,” the tweet read, referring to the expensive property he bought in Brentwood back in 2017 for approximately $23 million.
The Brentwood residence of former California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is now in jeopardy, since LA officials have announced a health crisis for the entire county overnight, due to deteriorating air conditions.
The Los Angeles County Public Health Department has released an official health notice, explaining that the current fires have significantly reduced the quality of the air, creating both immediate and future health hazards for the general population.
With each roar of an airplane overhead, I anxiously watch as they drop fire retardants over Mandeville Canyon, meticulously building a protective wall around our homes. Meanwhile, I stand vigilant, keeping my eyes peeled as federal agents tirelessly search for those who might have ignited this destructive blaze.
