Angelina Jolie was seen spending time with fellow actor Chris Rock on Thursday evening.

On an extraordinary night in the bustling city that is New York, I had the honor of co-hosting an unforgettable event at my Atelier Jolie. As you may know, this isn’t just any store – it’s a creative haven where fashion and artistry intertwine. The event was as glamorous as the Oscar-winning movie star who graced us with her presence that evening.

In a series of photos captured by Dan Chen, published on the store’s Instagram account, it appears that Jolie and Rock, who has connections with Angelina’s former spouse Brad Pitt, were pictured together.

During a formal dinner, they found themselves sitting side by side, and the topic of sculpture arose. Notably, Tory Burch and Diane von Furstenberg, both renowned fashion designers, were also present at this occasion.

An unforgettable night at Atelier Jolie, hosted by the Catharsis Arts Foundation, where artful sculptures address social concerns, foster empathy, and inspire uplifting community growth in a positive feedback loop.

The organization known as Catharsis Arts Foundation was established by artist @prune and its chair, @claudegrunitzky. During a discussion, they shared details about their objectives and ongoing project titled ‘Statues Also Breathe.’

This project involves partnering with the Department of Fine & Applied Arts at Obafemi-Awolowo University, as well as the families of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in 2014, on a joint initiative.

Drawing inspiration from the timeless terracottas of Ife, I’ve embarked on a journey to shed light on the young girls who remain unaccounted for, and amplify the worldwide fight for girls’ education. This project is my humble tribute to their resilience and strength.

From the depths of my gratitude, I extend a sincere thank you to @eatoffbeat for creating such a magnificent feast to honor this extraordinary moment, and to each and every person who played a role in transforming the event into something truly memorable.

Last year, Atelier Jolie was launched, and throughout the entire year, the workshop has hummed with creative classes focused on fashion design.

There was a session on ‘upcycling,’ which means reusing old items, and there was a class called Experimental Drawing with Andrew Castrucci.

Previously, there was a workshop offering insights into designing fashionable intimate clothing, inspired by professional designers.

At another event, there will be a session featuring Giancarlo Cipri discussing the art of silkscreening, while Mimi Plange shares insights on appliqué techniques through felting.

Jolie has also hosted a conversation with artist Ferrari Sheppard. 

This approximately 6,600 square foot area, predominantly brown and beige in color, features a welcoming café and an art gallery. You can find it at 57 Great Jones Street, open from Tuesday to Saturday.

A supporter of Atelier Jolie described the location as lively and sophisticated, expressing their fondness for it. They mentioned that it’s a great spot to spend time, in essence calling it a ‘cool hangout.’

According to the source, it’s clear that Jolie took great care in showcasing artists, and they also mentioned that the coffee is tasty and the café is enjoyable.

It appears that everyone at this location is genuinely passionate about avoiding purchases from The Gap, instead focusing on handmade items. The classes are engaging, and there’s a lot of conversation about how amazing Angelina is for opening the shop. People seem to truly admire her, and it seems there’s a large fan base of Angelina Jolie present as well.

Inside the store hangs clothing from sustainable brands from all over the world, Atelier Jolie’s own collection, art, and a café run by refugees called Eat Offbeat. 

In the vibrant NoHo neighborhood of New York City, I’ve discovered a historical gem once inhabited by the renowned artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Last year Jolie told WSJ that she will ‘probably lose money, maybe even for a while’ on her store.

The Salt star expressed that if he manages to apply certain changes he believes are beneficial and merely maintains his current position, that would be a tremendous triumph for him.

Earlier this year they put a call out to creators.

“Each of our customers plays an integral role in our community, as does anyone who interacts with us online, attends our various events, or simply drops by. However, today, let’s zero in on a specific segment – one particular aspect of our Atelier family.

The Tomb Raider star added she was looking for ‘skilled tailors.’

The initial workshop will be situated in New York City; this announcement is aimed at proficient tailors residing in the area. We eagerly anticipate establishing more such workshops, contributing to the growth of an international community.

We seek talented tailors with an eye for both quality craftsmanship and creative flair. Atelier Jolie plans to showcase a select group of promising, visionary tailors with distinctive design perspectives.

The aim of this group is to work together with clients, providing them with resources for designing and creating. Additionally, you’ll get an opportunity to develop your unique product line and sell it in our store, using your name as a brand. This will assist you in kick-starting your own eco-friendly business after completing the residency program.

We recognize that due to financial constraints, you might not have delved into sustainability as much as desired. Rest assured, we’re ready to assist and help further your efforts in this area.

In the near future, we’ll be seeking skilled artisans who excel in embroidery, fabric painting, manipulations, and similar crafts. We have several opportunities for you to showcase your talent: some will be for our internal projects, others for special events and elegant dinners, and a few for online tutorials where you can share your creativity with the world.
