Angelina Jolie is cast as a filmmaker in a movie about ‘Paris high fashion’ that will be shot in both French and English
As an ardent fan with a penchant for all things cinematic, this latest news about Angelina Jolie‘s new role has sent me into a frenzy of excitement! With her stellar acting chops and undeniable charm, she is set to grace our screens yet again in the world of high fashion – a realm that I am certain she will conquer just as effortlessly as she does every other role she takes on.
Angelina Jolie has landed a new movie role.
It emerged on Tuesday that the Academy Award-winning actress will feature in a movie centered around the realm of European high fashion.
Title of the Film: Stitches, Directed by Alice Winocour
It is ‘set in the world of high fashion and unfolds in Paris,’ according to Variety.
In the movie, Angelina takes on the role of a filmmaker, being one among three women whose paths are destined to intersect during Fashion Week.
This fits well with the fashion design companies that the 49-year-old is nurturing under her brand, Atelier Jolie.
Marc Malkin at Variety reported that the shoot will likely begin at the beginning of 2025.
It is under Charles Gillibert’s Paris-based banner CG Cinema.
They will produce in partnership with Zhang Xin and William Horberg of Closer Media.
Jolie was last in Paris for the filming of Maria.
In that movie she played the iconic Greek opera singer during her final days in the 1970s.
The premiere of the film took place at the Venice Film Festival, receiving an extended standing ovation that lasted for eight minutes.
Jolie in being talked up to be nominated for Best Actress Oscar.
She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for Girl, Interrupted.
She was last nominated in 2009 for The Changeling.
Jolie has admitted winning an Oscar for Maria would be a bonus.
As a lifestyle expert, I can tell you that starring in Pablo Larraín’s biographical psychological drama about the iconic diva Maria was the highlight of my career. While the Oscar buzz is certainly flattering, I truly feel like I’ve been granted an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with an extraordinary team of talented individuals. To me, this experience has already been the greatest gift, and any further accolades are merely a cherished dream.
Speaking to the Best UK magazine about the Oscar rumors surrounding her movie, she chuckled and said, “It’s heartening to know someone appreciates our hard work. Isn’t it? That recognition is incredibly valuable to me.
‘That kind of stuff is exciting and very, very nice. But I’m just so happy we were able to do this film. I’m genuinely so happy.
‘I know it sounds like people say this, but really, this was an experience of a lifetime. I learned to sing and I embodied a woman that I respect. I was able to work with this extraordinary team of people. I feel like I’ve already been given the greatest gift.
It appeared that the audience enjoyed it greatly. Therefore, any additional success is just a wish, yet I am already incredibly thankful for what I have.
Previously, the famous actress from Hollywood, who shares six kids with her former husband Brad Pitt, confessed that delving into opera training for the film served as an unexpected form of therapy for her.
In conversation with WSJ. magazine, she shared that Pablo (Larraín, the director) wanted her to delve deep, truly master singing… to grasp and research opera, to fully submerge herself in it and put in the necessary effort.
However, it was not just about learning to portray Maria Callas; it was about gaining an insight into her personality to truly embody the character.
It turned out that I had been harboring a great deal of emotions without fully releasing them. Therefore, the task wasn’t just about the technical aspects; it became a deeply emotional journey for me as I discovered how to speak up, to feel present in my own body, and to articulate my feelings effectively.
‘You have to give every single part of yourself… everything that you’ve got.’
Angelina spent ‘months’ working on her vocals.
Previously, she stated at the Telluride Film Festival that she had undergone seven months of opera training with exceptional instructors, attended Italian lessons, and had a collaborative group ready to assist her.
Despite this, Angelina still felt anxious about singing when the time came to do it.
She said: ‘I was so nervous that morning I was out of my mind.’
