Angela Scanlon claims Strictly Come Dancing left her in more pain than childbirth as she recalls nasty injuries that left her BLEEDING

Angela Scanlon shared that participating in Strictly Come Dancing caused her greater pain than childbirth, as she elaborated on the severe injuries she endured during the extended series.

In 2023, the Irish television host, aged 41, competed on the BBC’s Saturday evening show, where he partnered with professional dancer Carlos Gu, who was 32 years old at the time.

Nevertheless, after dancing her way successfully to the end of the contest and placing sixth, Angela ended up with painful and bleeding blisters.

Addressing the renowned reality TV personality Vicky Pattison, 37, on her “Get A Grip” podcast, I shared: “If given the chance, I’d gladly endure the birth of two children once more without any pain relief, compared to experiencing raw, bleeding blisters just a single time.

Angela is married to businessman Rory Horgan and they share two daughters: Ruby, aged seven, and Marnie, who’s three years old.

In 2021, talk show host AJ Odudu found herself on crutches as well, having torn a ligament. She disclosed that her foot ligament was left in a precarious state, hanging by a mere thread.

In 2023, during the rigorous training for the show, Zara McDermott shared that her feet had become severely bruised and even bled.

She shared details about losing most of her toenails after dancing in the ballroom and showed pictures of her painful foot injuries, particularly one on her big toe. She admitted that a significant portion of her toe had detached, saying straightforwardly: ‘In truth, half my toe is gone.’

Recently, Angela courageously shared her long-standing struggle with loneliness, disclosing that it had escalated to the point where she experienced a breakdown due to its severity.

She hit breaking point during a CoppaFeel! charity trek in the Himalayas, India last November.  

During the journey, Angela served as a team captain, accompanied by television host Emma Willis, successful businesswoman Sara Davies, and The Great British Bake Off champion Candice Brown.

In her Substack post, Angela narrated an emotionally impactful account with the aim of inspiring fellow female hikers who have survived breast cancer.

To be completely frank, mere days into this grueling expedition, I was swept away by an overwhelming wave of raw emotion that left me utterly spellbound and breathless.

After a few days, I couldn’t hold it together anymore – I had a complete emotional collapse. I ended up sobbing uncontrollably into my yak-themed comforter, as she confided.

At that moment, she pondered privately, “I’m unable. I don’t belong. What on earth was I contemplating? How presumptuous was I to assume I could handle these incredibly talented women during such a delicate period?
